Communicating with the Dead - Jenessa Wyatt

Communicating with the Dead - Jenessa Wyatt

Psychic Medium, Jenessa Wyatt, relates her incredible story and gift of communicating with the dead. MysticMag finds out more.

How and when did you first realize that you had psychic abilities?

I was four years old when it all started. I was in the hallway at my parents house, and I noticed a woman who I would later call my ‘sad Barbie’. We would end up having short conversations daily and she would explain that she was sad, and waiting… Years later I found out that a woman had committed suicide in the house because she thought her husband had been cheating on her (which in fact he hadn’t). I also did other strange things in this house, always guided and instructed by Spirit which, when I look back on now, all seemed pretty crazy.
Another incident involved a dream that I had in my twenties where someone was telling me words such as ‘adoption’ and ‘liars’. Twelve years later, when in my thirties, I was told that I had been adopted.
Do you believe that trauma pushes the sixth sense to seek refuge elsewhere, facilitating access to the other side?
I was molested by my 14 year old step-cousin (who was actually my step-brother because my aunt was in fact my mother, as I later discovered). This went on for about three years, from the age of four to seven. I think this was when I started activating this beautiful gift of mine. I always put my psychic abilities down to the trauma that I had experienced until I had my son.
However, at a very young age, my son would have conversations with his deceased grandmother on my ex-husband’s side. So for us, it is definitely something in the lineage. However, I do believe that trauma can trigger the psychic realm in certain people.

In your experience, what percentage of the population finds communicating with Spirits ‘normal’ and have you noticed a shift in attitude over the years?

One thousand percent. Before I started my business, I used to go to bars, get drunk and do readings for the clientele there, and I did this for 20 years. When I started this as a business about 5 years ago, my clientele was pretty much only women from 35-70. The clientele has definitely shifted since then and over the last 18 months, I have had a few celebrities and businessmen. People are definitely looking for more spirituality, are looking for something more and are seeking to erase the feeling of disconnect that they have in our society.
Sadly to say, quite a lot of men are skeptics and one of my favorite aspects of the job is converting them into blown away believers. I do one thing really well – and that is communicating with the dead.
Another phenomenon that has been happening more and more, which I first put down to intuition, is when I get a picture of someone in my head, a name and then the word social media. I look them up, and they have passed over in some way or other – and people of all ages…It is very offsetting, in a good or bad way, and I am trying to process this new occurrence in my life.
To answer the question, I definitely believe that spirituality or the need for connecting with lost loved ones has significantly increased over the last year or so, and different kinds of people are overtly open to and curious about it.

How do you work with those who seek your help?

Before a zoom or in-person reading, I light a candle and sit in their space for about 15-20 mins by myself to tap into who is coming through for them. Usually there are one, two or three people who come through. I ask them who they are and it starts popping off like a checklist. I always say to my clients not to ask for things they don’t want to know because ultimately it will come through.
I always offer my clients a crystal after a reading. I ask them to pick out a crystal that resonates with them, take it home and google its properties. Time after time it comes back that the crystal matches perfectly what they came to the reading for, whether it be loss, love, divorce etc…Somebody pointed out to me that perhaps I was charging the crystals in the office whilst doing the readings..?

What do you believe your soul purpose to be?

It is without a doubt to make disbelievers believe, and to heal people who feel lost. If I can make people who feel empty and lost know that they are not alone, then I am the happiest I could ever be. Giving these people hope and tangible memories is such an amazing gift to give. If I can connect people to Spirit and teach people to empower themselves, then I am blessed too.
