Help and Healing from The Divine Mothers - Deborah FreeSpirit

Deborah FreeSpirit chats with MysticMag about her role as a Heart-Centered Mystic Soul Whisperer in service to the Divine Mothers (Mother Mary, Mary Magdalene, Kuan Yin and Goddess Isis). She helps individuals spiritually align Mind, Body and Soul. The two Mary’s (Mother Mary and Mary Magdalene) played an important part in Deborah’s life navigating her through childhood traumas and challenges. Together with the Divine Mothers, Deborah now wants to support others on their soul healing journey.

Deborah, your journey includes profound experiences with various spiritual leaders and traditions. How have these diverse encounters shaped your approach to healing and guiding others on their spiritual paths?

My healing journey started when I was just five years old. I was born into a family that faced its challenges. When you delve into a spiritual journey, they often emphasize exploring every corner of your experiences. Mine began in a family that struggled quite a bit. My mom, the eldest of eight siblings, married someone she didn’t truly love, and my dad was a gambler, alcoholic and abuser. He wanted a son, and my arrival as a daughter fractured my relationship with him.
Growing up in a Catholic family, I deeply connected with Mother Mary and Mary Magdalene. They were my guiding presence, especially during tough times at home. I didn’t fully grasp this connection until I was about seven. Whenever there was turmoil between my mom and dad, somehow, synchronicity brought the divine mothers to my rescue. At seven, my mom divorced my dad, leading to more trauma. We left Kenya when I was 10, moving to London with my stepdad, who turned out also to be an abuser and gambler. He emotionally stole my childhood, and when I started dating at 19, he physically abused my mom, which got him arrested and somehow breathing space to begin a new life. My early life continued to encounter trauma and challenges until I was 20.
The divine mothers always stepped in despite these hardships during these moments of distress. They provided this glimmer of hope, bringing the right people to help me. I didn’t fully comprehend this until I was in my 40’s.
In my 30s, Kuan Yin appeared when I needed guidance, especially around a short-lived and troubled marriage lasting only six months. After that, I made wrong relationship choices, but the divine mothers remained my constant support.
I started exploring tarot, not realizing the power of the readings and that those I read for would eventually become my teachers. They unknowingly guided me onto this path, shaping me into the spiritual teacher I am today, rooted in unconditional love and understanding, devoid of ego.
Despite my traumas, I’ve turned these painful experiences into teachings. I attract women in abusive relationships, offering them knowledge that flows effortlessly through me, providing a safe space where they feel understood.
When my mom died in 2015, I moved to Scotland, where I had completed my shamanic training. Then, in 2017, I started my soul journey, which began in Thailand, then onto Malaysia, Bali, New Zealand, Jordan, Israel, Turkey, and my final destination, Portugal. In January 2018, while on my soul journey in New Zealand, on a Māori Healing Retreat, a deep-seated trauma of sexual abuse at five unveiled itself while I was working with a wise Māori teacher. It took me three years to heal from this revelation, and I felt reborn and ready to claim my name as Deborah FreeSpirit.
In all honesty, since 2010, my journey has been about my soul healing, so I am not surprised the final destination was Portugal, which connected me to my ancestral roots, where profound healing transpired. While in Portugal on Praia dos Três Irmãos, Alvor, I discovered my true calling as a Mystic Soul Whisperer: I have the ear to listen to people’s souls and convey messages from the divine mothers. My sessions are not about what people expect but what their souls want them to know. I listen to that inner voice, guiding them on their unique journeys. I discovered my ability to tap into people’s souls only recently, a gift shaped by my traumas. Without those experiences, I wouldn’t be the healer and mystic I am today, capable of doing this deeply impactful work.

Your work emphasizes connecting with one’s higher self and breaking free from mental cages. Could you share an example of a transformational moment where you witnessed a significant shift in someone’s life through your guidance?

I receive so many beautiful testimonials following a session with a client. For the last few months, I’ve been working with a client going through her awakening phase, transitioning from her human self to this rising soul self. Her higher self is nudging her, like, “Hey, pay attention, I’m here.” She carried so much sadness, and seeing her release it after her first session was incredible, especially once she got clarity on what her soul wanted her to know. In her second session, she spoke about wanting to leave her marriage after being together for about 20 years. She was unhappy, and she sensed her husband was too. She lacked the confidence to take that step.
Following several sessions with me, a lot of clarity emerged. It prompted her to dive deeper, exploring her feelings of anger. I also tuned into her husband’s soul. That insight helped her approach a heartfelt conversation with him, rooted in unconditional love rather than fear. Fear tends to complicate things, you know? But after a few sessions together, she had this conversation with her husband. He felt the same way but struggled to express his true feelings as he never wanted to hurt her. They decided to end things amicably for their own sake and the children’s.
I shared my experience of ending my second marriage amicably, guided by the divine mother. I emphasized that approaching it with love instead of anger heals a lot in the process. Thankfully, they have parted ways but remain in constant communication, handling things beautifully. It’s incredible to witness that transformation.
Sometimes, people don’t immediately embrace what I share. I had one client who initially dismissed the idea of meeting a soulmate or twin flame. But lo and behold, a few days later during a trip, he met this incredible woman, and they clicked instantly. It’s moments like these that astound me. People often resist hearing certain things initially, but later on, they circle back, acknowledging the shifts happening.
We’re wired from childhood to be cautious, to fear making decisions. It’s deeply ingrained. Even more so when it involves matters of the heart. I guide people through this fear, showing them they can live a fulfilled life by trusting their heart more than their head. It’s amazing to see that trust and surrender grow.
I grew up in a Catholic environment, but my approach isn’t about religion; it’s about trust and surrender to the divine. I’ve seen firsthand how dogma can harm families, including my own. So, for me, it’s about guiding others through trust and surrender to something greater than themselves.

You mention a deep connection with the Divine Mothers. How does this connection influence the advice or guidance you channel for individuals seeking soul alignment, and how do you perceive the role of divine guidance in personal transformation?

Sure, so when I channel the divine mothers, they don’t dictate specific instructions like “tell this person this” or “tell that person that.” Instead, they assist me in connecting with a person’s soul. Those first few tarot cards I pull speak volumes about the person I’m reading for. I’ll look at those cards and think, “Ah, this is what’s going on with you,” sometimes they’re amazed, asking, “How did you know?” I attribute it to my connection with souls through the divine mothers.
The guidance that follows is rooted in intuitive insight, coming from a place of unconditional love. I reassure them that they can accept or disregard the advice. Nothing’s set in stone because each person has their unique journey. The divine mothers always emphasize this- they allow a person’s path to unfold and hope the guidance offered resonates and assists in their transformation. There’s no ultimatum or punishment; it’s about recognizing one’s worthiness of unconditional love and understanding that life doesn’t need to be a constant struggle.
Sometimes, when one is feeling low, it could be that they are an empath and picking up someone else’s energy. Nowadays, it’s all about protecting our energy and realizing our inherent power as humans. The awakening aims for unity within ourselves, aligning our soul and human self, leading to a happier life where we don’t need to struggle with life’s challenges perpetually.
Reflecting on my life 20 years ago, I wouldn’t have comprehended this. I’ve gone from losing everything to finding inner peace. I realized that external things can’t make you truly happy; it’s about connecting with your soul from within. That energy and joy emanate from within, not from possessions or external factors.
I have this experience of vibrant energy flowing through me, too. Recently, a stranger on the train mentioned sitting across from me, feeling this positive energy and how it impacted her. She tapped me on the shoulder and said, “Thank You. Your smile shifted something heavy within me.” I have babies who tune into this energy when they see me. My daughter finds it hysterical. I know the Divine Mothers radiate their loving energy through me, and I am just a conduit.
I am a volunteer walker with Under One Sky Together, approximately twice a month, supporting the London homeless. I get to connect with people who have lost everything. This divine energy flows through as I shower them with kindness, listen and make them feel valued. When I have moments of reflection, I realize it’s not just about what I do; it’s about being a conduit for unconditional love and making a difference in someone’s day. That’s what I believe I’m here for.

Your journey involved extensive training and experiences across different modalities and cultures. How do you synthesize these diverse influences into your S.O.U.L. Empowerment Healing program, and what specific elements do you find most impactful in supporting others’ spiritual awakening?

Over the years, I have understood that much of my wisdom comes from personal experiences, tapping into intuitive guidance from some of my past timelines and sitting with some great indigenous elders: Hopi (Arizona), Shaman (Peru and Bolivia), and Māori (New Zealand).
My journey with healing modalities began with Usui Reiki in 2005, but honestly, it freaked me out after I completed level two. My life crumbled around me, and even my second marriage ended. I felt lost and in emotional despair. My Reiki master couldn’t provide the answers or support. I ended up seeing my doctor, who prescribed antidepressants and counselling. Anyone who even mentioned the word reiki got an angry stare from me. Lol, I’ve now realized that I was experiencing the awakening of my soul, and the old me was changing. A few years later, I stumbled on Angelic Reiki. I loved knowing I was working with angels and ascended masters. After completing my Angelic Reiki Master training, I realized the divine mothers were now supporting me with my healing work. I recently discovered that my great-grandfather Mateus D’Souza on my mother’s side was a Portuguese Medicine Man/Healer, and it appears I am the only family member who has tapped into the healing gifts.
Around 2009-2010, I delved into life coaching to better understand how to help women in abusive relationships. As I worked through this, I also became an Advanced EFT Practitioner. It was a game-changer because it helped me address my trauma. Coaching sessions would bring up my issues, and EFT allowed me to release negative beliefs and emotions.
I then stumbled on the book “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne, which intrigued me deeply. I was determined to learn more about the Law of Attraction, so I searched for training courses and found Michael Losier, who wrote some modules for The Law of Attraction Training Center, based in British Columbia, Canada. I contacted their Principal, Rebecca Hanson, and eventually trained to be a Law of Attraction Coach, learning to implement these principles effectively. I became a recognized coach for the UK.
I experienced the power of manifestation firsthand when I used the Law of Attraction to acquire a new car. After my marriage ended, I manifested the life I wanted to live despite financial constraints, and my mantra became, “Money comes to me easily.” My success inspired my daughter, who used the same technique for her school and university exams, which also worked for her. I have understood that manifestation is humans’ innate power and is available to everyone when you know how.
While I’ve trained in numerous other modalities, I don’t always use them as I feel the teachings lack heart-centeredness.
In 2020, during lockdown, I became a Licensed Practitioner of Saraswati Healing, created by Alana Fairchild, a spiritual teacher based in Australia. I received profound healing from this training. The Divine Mothers have encouraged me to use a combination of soul guidance reading with Saraswati Healing, which has brought about significant changes, not just in my life but also in the lives of others I work with.
I integrate modalities like EFT, life coaching, manifestation techniques, and Saraswati Healing into my S.O.U.L. Empowerment Healing. I’m also a RelaxKids Coach, and the plan is to run special well-being sessions for children when the time feels right or should I say when I get the nod from the Divine Mothers and it aligns with my vision.
It’s been quite a journey, and each modality I use adds a unique facet to my practice, allowing me to help others on a deeper level. I am also bringing small groups of people together to experience their heart awakening on retreats worldwide, I have one scheduled for February 2024 in Portugal, and November 2024 in Bali.

Your work has a global reach, assisting individuals both online and in person. How do you adapt your spiritual guidance to suit the varied cultural and individual needs of your international clientele?

It sounds like you’ve had quite the journey, especially with your experiences at Mysteries Covent Garden. Working there and conducting over a thousand readings in just two years must have been quite an adventure. I appreciate your genuine approach—only providing guidance when you feel that connection within the first few minutes. If it doesn’t happen, you’re upfront and offer a refund, respecting the value of people’s time.
Encountering different attitudes during readings is part of the process. Some people aren’t ready to listen or may not understand what a reading entails. Sometimes, they have expectations beyond what a reader can offer them. As a reader, I need to tell individuals that I am not just a psychic or tarot reader, but I communicate with their souls to give them the best guidance for their current journey; I cannot share what their soul doesn’t want to share with them now. It’s interesting to see how some initially resist the insights and then come back, acknowledging the accuracy of the guidance given. That lady who slammed the phone down but later admitted the accuracy of your insights—that’s quite a powerful testament to the depth of your readings and the authenticity of your guidance.
It’s refreshing to hear that your approach isn’t about competing with other psychics or readers. Instead, you’re focused on following your guidance, ensuring that your work comes from a place of pure, unconditional love and authenticity. That heartfelt connection and commitment to your work truly shine through.
