Ayurveda and Beyond: The MEDVISIT Story with Aldona Vysniauskiene

Ayurveda and Beyond: The MEDVISIT Story with Aldona Vysniauskiene

The journey behind MEDVISIT spans over two decades, beginning with Aldona Vysniauskiene‘s childhood fascination with natural remedies, inspired by her grandparents. Overcoming personal health challenges and a pivotal moment of realization, Aldona dedicated herself to studying various holistic and ancient healing techniques, ultimately founding one of Lithuania’s first natural medicine centers, MEDVISIT, in 2014. What is the story behind MEDVISIT and how was it founded?

The journey and various transformations towards the establishment of the Medvisit center lasted about 20 years. As a child, I grew up surrounded by nature with my grandmother, who introduced me to the world of herbs, and my grandfather was a “veterinarian”. That was my introduction to naturopathy. I gave in to society and chose economics studies at VU, although I always had the feeling that this was not my path.

Later, I helped my husband build a business and plunged into work. You know, when one goes his own way, he is successful. For me, a big signal to rethink my life was an unsuccessful second, then third pregnancy. I suffered from migraines and insomnia, and after a while, I ended up in the hospital with cancer. I was undergoing chemotherapy and I kept wondering what I was doing wrong. Soon I got pregnant again, but I felt pains… The doctors didn’t promise anything good. I remember when I was lying in a hospital bed, I sent a promise to the universe and prayed to leave a child for me. At night, I dreamed of a small smiling child coming back to me, and in the morning all the danger symptoms were gone…I successfully carried and gave birth, and later I had two more children. Then I realized how powerful the human mind is. And how can we help ourselves when we consciously realize our mistakes, forgive ourselves and others, begin to heal, when we love ourselves, and gently, carefully change our field of vision of the world?

But most importantly, it has fundamentally changed my life. I clearly understood my path. I began to study all the techniques available to me at that time: I deeply immersed myself in Eastern Medicine, yoga, aromatherapy, holistic therapies, meditation, constellations and delved more and more into ancient healing techniques that help heal and balance the mind and body. All this helped me a lot and I realized that I want and can help others with simple but effective treatments. So, in 2014, I established one of the first natural medicine centers in Lithuania, MEDVISIT. I successfully graduated from Public Health Sciences, Institute of Aromatherapy which provided me with basic knowledge and practice of Ayurvedic medicine, and graduated with a Diploma in Quantum Natural Medicine. I am currently studying for a Ph.D at Quantum University.

What are Ayurvedic Therapies and how do they work?

A wonderful introduction to the founder and owner of Sitaram Ayurveda Retreat Dr. Vignesh Devraj, I immersed myself in the theoretical and practical knowledge of ancient Ayurveda. I have practiced and accompanied people to this center for panchakarma therapy. It is part of my job to do individual Ayurvedic procedures: Nasya (an effective Ayurvedic therapeutic procedure for the head, nose, throat, and neck), Udvartana (warm herbal powder massage), Abjanga (healing, body-cleansing, and rejuvenating Ayurvedic massage), “Pinda Sweda” (Ayurvedic therapeutic procedures with hot compresses), Marma point therapy.

In Ayurveda, health is called “swastha”, which in Sanskrit terms consists of “swa” + “stha”. „Swa“ means real or pure self, „Stha“ means to join. So health is about connecting with Your True Self. Unfortunately, we live in an age where we are very connected to the outside world and distant from our inner Self. This is evidenced by wrong choices, addictions, distractions, senseless consumption, and lack of joy and happiness. Ayurveda is a healing method that focuses on connecting with Your True Self. Our body is a miraculous organism. It knows how to heal itself. No matter what chemical we take from pharmaceutical companies, it is already being produced in our bodies, whether it is a pain reliever, an antidepressant, or hormone therapy. All of this is produced within us in the right doses and at the right time. Ayurveda is about how to activate this best pharmacy in our body through healing, herbs, food, lifestyle, and wisdom. Allopathy is a great first aid system if we use it wisely.

What other services do you offer?

Computer pulse diagnosis has a very important place in our practice. To assess the state of the human body, we use a very sensitive computer system PULS-AS, which can be used based on the pulse (records as many as 12 pulses) to assess all the states of the human body systems and provide recommendations on what daily regimes, herbs, diet, treatment or procedures to apply in order to improve health and activate inner power. As part of our treatment, we integrate acupuncture, holistic massages, osteopathy, kinesiology, aromatherapy, olfactoteraphy, and psychological counseling.

You also organize Wellness trips. What can people expect from those?

We organize wellness trips to Sitaram Ayurvedic Healing Center in Kerala, India. Over the years, they have become our time-tested partners. People mainly go to restore health, strengthen the immune system and vitality, reduce weight, overcome the negative effects of stress and relax, and change the quality of sleep, digestion, and work capacity. Daily doctor’s consultation and individually tailored procedures and diet essentially allow this to be achieved.

What is in store for MEDVISIT going forward?

I don’t know what will happen with MEDVISIT in the future, I only know one thing, which is that at the moment we maintain our uniqueness, as we work not for quantity, but for quality. We exclusively use complementary and alternative medicine services. For us, each person is like a separate world. We have several project proposals that we select with care and responsibility.
