Can you please introduce yourself to our readers and share a few details about your professional background?

Hey there, I’m Cara Frank, and I wear many hats in the realm of Chinese Medicine – acupuncturist, herbalist, educator, businesswoman, and author. With four decades of experience, my journey began at 20 when I enrolled in acupuncture school. A pivotal moment occurred in 1998 when I ventured to China, falling head over heels in love with East Asian Herbs. Since then, my life has been a continuous exploration and sharing of this passion.

In 2013, I founded Six Fishes Neighborhood Acupuncture in Philadelphia, where I lead a lively team and practice as the head fish. Beyond the clinic, I’m the president of China Herb Company and the mind behind China Herb Seminars, launched in 2021. My articles have found homes in international journals, and I’m the proud author of “TCM Case Studies: Eye Ear Nose and Throat Disorders.” Additionally, I played a role in the development of the first national Chinese herbal certification exam.

What different types of acupuncture do you offer?

In my practice, I embrace a variety of acupuncture techniques, including Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the balance method, and Korean techniques. At Six Fishes, diversity is key – my team of practitioners each has their unique style, ensuring there’s a perfect fit for everyone who walks through our doors.

How does Acutonics® Sound Healing work?

Let me paint a harmonious picture for you – Acutonics® Sound Healing is a therapeutic dance with tuning forks that either touch your body or serenade your ears. Picture precision-calibrated tuning forks on specific acupuncture points, rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine and inspired by shamans, science, and psychology. This treatment, like a symphony, brings harmony to your being. It’s an experience where your body resonates with the natural harmonic cycle based on the celestial bodies. As the vibrations travel deep within, they access core levels for healing and balance, embracing physical, spiritual, and emotional energies.

What exactly are “Chinese Herbs,” and how can they help a person heal?

Chinese herbs are the unsung heroes of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Unlike Western Herbology, which often uses single herbs, TCM combines these herbs to create formulas tailored to individual health needs. I specialize in internal medicine, aiming to address the root cause of imbalances, not just the symptoms. The synergy and balance within these formulas enhance therapeutic benefits, making them a powerful tool for holistic healing.

In TCM, each herb has unique properties, flavors, and actions on the body. When combined, they create a balanced and harmonious effect, addressing multiple aspects of a person’s condition. This highly individualized approach is fundamental to TCM. In contrast, Western herbal medicine often focuses on using single herbs to target specific symptoms rather than the overall pattern of imbalance.

What courses do you offer through China Herb Seminars?

China Herb Seminars is a niche haven where I empower herbalists and acupuncturists with the intricacies of Chinese Medicine. From formulas and diseases to pediatrics and gynecology, our courses delve deep into this complex system of medicine, providing practitioners with the knowledge and confidence to make a meaningful impact.
