Can you share a few details about yourself and your professional background with our readers?

My name is Charlotte Coltman, please call me Charlie, and I am the founder and business owner of Community Retreats, a small wellbeing business based in Salisbury, southern England. I offer a range of wellbeing services including angelic reiki and energy healing, spiritual mentoring, and on-request specialist house/land healing. I also work with crystals in my work and daily life.

My early career was in the City of London working in the field of investment management, being part of teams running high-risk portfolios. After leaving finance, I worked in international development and ran a small NGO in Tanzania which worked in the fields of conservation and education. I had a personal set of circumstances that caused my life to take on a whole new direction in 2014.

As a consequence of over 25 years of mental health struggles (depression, anxiety) culminating in panic attacks and PTSD, I started on the inner path to heal myself. This journey of healing is in my first book: Healing Me So My Children Can Be: Dark Night of the Soul. In the process of healing myself, I unearthed gifts and abilities I was not previously aware of, and it led me down a path of my service work healing land across the south of England.

What is Angelic Reiki and how much is it different from other forms of Reiki?

Angelic Reiki is a gentle form of healing that works with the angelic frequencies to support the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies. It is a form of energy healing that is non-evasive, soothing, and peaceful, seeking to reconnect the individual with the Divine.

It differs from other forms of reiki insofar as the attunements the healer receives at the time of the training, which are specifically linked to the angelic frequencies. Attunements are the process of initiation (which can be likened to base programming in a computer) that the practitioner receives at the outset.

What can people hope to achieve through your spiritual mentoring and what are the main principles you base it on?

As a practitioner, I encourage active participation and awareness in the healing process. I believe this best supports individuals in the long term. Spiritual Mentoring, a series of 90-minute sessions over a six-month period, encourages clients to look at where they need to focus on the healing journey, whether it be conception, in utero healing, birth trauma, early years, inner child, relationships, ancestral or past life and so forth. I support individuals to face their past, understand the events that occurred as well as emotionally process, and let go of what can be very difficult memories. I receive higher guidance for that individual as to where the focus needs to be.

Spiritual Mentoring is based on the following principles:

  • We can heal, however, traumatic.
  • Healing occurs in the heart space – you won’t solve mental health in the head
  • We can forgive, however wrong (agape – compassionate love)
  • The path to understanding lies within
  • Following the emotion is key, it is the gift. Our aim is to reach a neutral response
  • Nothing is permanent. We can change.
  • Each of us is needed, each of us has a mission on Earth. We are one and are part of something greater than we might understand now.

No client is the same, however, there can be commonalities. I seek to go back to the seed point of where and how the emotional response was created. I have even regressed clients back to their conception and time in the womb to heal. And I also work with clients who have had extremely challenging early years. It’s difficult work and I hold the space for individuals to heal. It isn’t easy for anyone to be vulnerable.

As an author, what books have you written and what are they about?

The first book I have written is Healing Me So My Children Can Be: Dark Night of the Soul which is about mental health recovery. I also use it as a tool with my clients for spiritual mentoring as it signposts individuals as to where to focus on their healing. It’s designed to support as I spent 25 years fumbling around with my mental health, developing my emotional intelligence but not improving my life. The book, hopefully, will get you started on your journey and offer areas for further inner exploration.

The second book the family has written is by my son, Edwin Hopley, who wrote The Safekeeping Dragon of St. Osmund’s, at age 9. This is about a dragon who gets lost in Salisbury and a family who helps him. It’s beautifully illustrated by the artist Annie B, based in Cornwall. My children managed the project themselves. Edwin receives information about dragons in his dreamtime. The story is also linked to my service work: land healing across the south of England.

My next book due later this year is about a perspective on the structure of our DNA. It’s not easy writing books as a single mum – I need to get up at 5 AM, which can be a challenge on winter mornings!

Can you share a memorable success story?

A couple of recent examples come to mind:

Angelic reiki/energy healing

A client came to me for the second time. She hadn’t been to the dentist for 20 years as she had a gag reflex and therefore needed to be sedated. In the angelic reiki/energy healing session, we focused on shifting the energies contributing to this. It included thoughtform and engrained fear of the dentist and two past life regressions – one life where her neck had broken and another where she had received an injury to the back of her neck. By shifting the trauma from the past lives and any obstructing emotional energies from this, I was then able to support her so the gag reflex was no longer an issue. The following day she went to the dentist and did not gag reflex!

Angelic reiki/energy healing & spiritual mentoring

In relation to a long-term client who has received both angelic reiki/energy healing and spiritual mentoring, she first came to me totally overwhelmed with spiritual information and had become untrusting of the sector including practitioners. As well as shifting energies from this life (we have undertaken regression back to being a baby left while mum popped out), ancestral baggage as well as various past lives, we have also made considerable progression in discernment, figuring out her way of processing emotions and releasing them as well as creating processes for what she can do about her triggers? After 18 months or so, she is being called into the next stage of her life and awareness and that is service to humanity. Her progress has been amazing and it’s been an honour to facilitate.

Is there anything else about your work that you’d like to share that we haven’t covered?

Yes, I would like to share a little bit about my service work: land healing. My service work was very much linked to my path of recovery from PTSD, otherwise, to be honest, I don’t think I would have done it. We moved (or the universe moved us) to Salisbury and this was very much linked to healing the land and water here. It involved lots of visits to heal trauma at church sites across the south of England. Edwin’s book is very much an introduction to this work.

It included sites linked to the slave trade for example. An example of the work can be found at communityretreats.com/the-church-the-slave-trade-a-perspective. I have since been involved in a project with the Church of England reconciliation program and have been continually called to do some healing in relation to the collective trauma experienced.

My land healing work is very specialist but I share this, as I am seeing many being called into service to heal the land and our beautiful planet and I encourage anyone being called to respond to this. There is plenty of support out there for the nature of this work – here and on the other side of the veil.
