Your approach integrates various modalities such as Medical Qigong, Transformational Bodywork, and Light Therapy. How do you determine the most effective combination of these therapies for each individual client?

Historically, most people come to me for bodywork because they are most connected to their body, which often presents tangible issues that can be addressed relatively quickly. Connective tissue is the organ of form, holding the body’s structure in the posture it assumes. Myofascial manipulation directly alters this form, enhancing function in the process. The Rolf method traditionally follows a 10-session series. However, with the evolving demands of modern life—including cultural shifts, economic constraints, and the needs of an aging population—many individuals find it challenging to commit to a full ten-session series. To meet people where they are, I offer this work as single sessions or in mini-series formats, tailored to the structural needs I observe and what each client is able and willing to undertake.
Medical QiGong, derived from Chinese medical tradition, works with subtle energy. Practitioners of this modality are rare, and it is often misunderstood and under-requested. However, all healing work is essentially energy work, so I rely on my ability to perceive and sense subtle energies before and during bodywork. I often perform energetic balancing at the end of a session and, when appropriate, provide clients with homework suggestions from the Qigong tradition. This adds an extra layer of benefit, which I offer at no additional cost. I do not approach my work purely physically, as I recognize the profound interconnection between the mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of a person.
Polychromatic light therapy is a distinct modality that offers numerous benefits, particularly in increasing circulation, reducing pain, and promoting tissue regeneration. I recommend this treatment for individuals dealing with neuropathy, head trauma, circulatory issues, nervous disorders, or those seeking tissue healing. The therapy takes about 45 minutes to apply, though it requires extra time for setup and cleanup, so I schedule longer sessions. Ideally, clients commit to a series of six weekly sessions. In more severe cases, clients may choose to purchase a system for home use. I do not combine light therapy with energy work, as it emits its own energy field, nor with bodywork, as the pads applied to the skin involve cords that limit integration with other therapies.

With a background in both religious studies and energy medicine, how do you bridge the gap between spiritual teachings and physical healing in your sessions?

An excellent question. My doctoral thesis explored the intersection of Western metaphysics, human anatomy and physiology, and Eastern esoteric traditions, specifically the Daoist and Hindu energy systems. I’m currently writing a book aimed at helping younger audiences reconnect with their bodies and understand the spiritual origins of life, integrating body, mind, and spirit in a way that’s accessible and relevant.
As an ordained minister in the Science of Mind tradition, I live this philosophy daily—using it as a foundation to align my own mind with truth, unity, love, and service. In working with clients, I don’t preach or teach theology; I seek to recognize and reflect the divine presence within them, holding space for their inherent wholeness and boundless potential to heal.

Transformational Bodywork involves reshaping body alignment through myofascial manipulation and movement education. Can you elaborate on how this technique contributes to a client’s overall sense of wholeness?

The term transformational reflects my 45 years of experience practicing Rolf Structural Integration. Although I’ve chosen not to remain a dues-paying member of the Rolf Institute and therefore cannot use the trademarked term Rolfing®, the essence of the work remains at the core of my practice. I help reshape this form through myofascial manipulation to improve overall function and alignment. The original method is a ten-session process designed to harmonize the body with the constant, downward pull of gravity—a state I define as true wholeness: all parts working together in integrated balance.

Holotropic Breathwork is known for facilitating deep self-exploration. What role does this practice play in helping clients access and process subconscious emotions or traumas?

I do not offer Holotropic Breathwork in my office or alongside other treatment modalities, as it is a distinct and immersive process. Typically, it unfolds over the course of a full day, involving three hours of conscious breathing to evocative music, followed by a role reversal in which each participant serves as a supportive sitter for their breathing partner.
The environment is intentionally created to foster both safety and uninhibited self-expression. Before beginning, I offer a thorough orientation, including an introduction to the perinatal birth matrices developed by Dr. Stanislav Grof. Breath plays a central role in this work—it is the first thing that welcomes us into life and the last to accompany us at death. Deep, intentional breathing alters brain chemistry and activates inner processes that can evoke images, emotions, and memories otherwise inaccessible in ordinary consciousness.
The beauty of this modality lies in the understanding that each person’s inner healer leads the journey. As a facilitator, my role is to hold a compassionate space, ensure safety, and intervene only when absolutely necessary. Following the breathing session, we move into integration, which often includes creating and sharing mandala artwork that captures the essence of the experience. I facilitate Holotropic Breathwork in group workshops and occasionally in private sessions.

As someone who offers both individual sessions and educational classes, how do you see the relationship between personal healing and collective consciousness in your work?

Another very insightful question—thank you. I see the collective consciousness as the sum total of all individual consciousness. The true spiritual work lies in healing ourselves: releasing fear, doubt, prejudice, anger, blame, and violence. Since our personal auras constantly interact, there is no separation—our energy is always affecting the whole.
Education is a powerful tool to reach beyond individual sessions, yet we are constantly teaching simply by how we live and engage with others. The transformation of our world and culture cannot happen until hearts and minds choose peace, harmony, and reverence for both one another and the planet. We are in the midst of that healing journey—transcending limiting beliefs and ascending into a fifth-dimensional awareness rooted in unity and non-duality.
There is so much more I could share. I once gave a talk called “Our Crisis is a Rebirth”, exploring how the perinatal stages of birth reflect what we’ve collectively experienced during the COVID pandemic and the resulting economic and political upheavals.
