Can you tell me how you discovered your psychic gifts and share a few details about your professional journey?
I don’t actually view being Psychic as a gift, I see it more as an ability. As a child, I was always a ‘sensitive’ person. I would intuitively pick up on things about people and was able to quickly learn whether somebody was trustworthy or not. During my high school years, this intuition, or ‘knowing’ was very strong and I was able to simply ‘know’ things about teachers and other students without even having to ask them. It was during conversations with other kids at school that I would say, ‘How come you didn’t know that?”. I soon realised that I was the one who was different. It kind of put me in the ’spiritual closet’ for a while and I pretended that I didn’t know as much as did. Likewise, this happened again many years later when I was managing a television station. Information would come to me about our clients and bosses that I would pretend to not know as much as I intuitively did. It seemed a better option to keep quiet in order to make sure that I didn’t stand out to be viewed as weird or a threat to anyone in a senior position.
When I was in my early 30s I decided that I could no longer hide from it and started doing courses on Psychic and Mediumship Development. This lead me to train under Mediums from America and then later onto the Arthur Findlay College in Essex, England which is a school for the advancement of Spiritualism and Psychic Sciences. It was here that I really learnt how to honour and hone my abilities in a way I never thought possible before. The tutors can be incredibly tough but their skills are both incredible and inspiring. I continued to do readings part-time whilst still working, however, I had a waitlist of up to 2 years so I decided to take the plunge 8 years ago and work with spirit full-time. I didn’t choose to do this work, spirit chose it for me.
How would you describe your approach or philosophy when it comes to your work?
I have a very strong approach to respecting the Law of Karma and believe that it is important to treat others how you wish to be treated. If I ‘see’ something in a reading, I am usually going to say it, unless I believe it could be damaging to the person I am reading for. I am very much about empowering people in order to help them and will always to try bring forward information that can only assist them in a positive way.
Can you walk me through one of your readings?
At the beginning of each session, my primary focus is to determine my client’s main need/s for the reading. This enables me to tune into that specific area of interest. It could involve delving into Psychic insights to shed light on future events, such as their career prospects or potential life paths. Alternatively, there might be a strong inclination for the client to establish a connection with someone from the spirit world, which would lead me to engage in Mediumship.
Once the primary need is identified, it is important to provide evidence to validate the communication. For instance, while working with Mediumship, I strive to deliver specific details that establish a clear connection with the person in the spirit world. This may involve conveying information such as, “I have your father here, he passed away from a heart attack and was a chain smoker.” By providing these specific and accurate details, I aim to provide validation and establish a strong foundation for the reading moving forward.
Aside from this, I am also aware that clients often seek Psychic guidance regarding their personal situations, such as going through a divorce, transitioning jobs, or attempting to conceive a baby. In cases such as these, it is essential to gather relevant details about their circumstances so they know you are tuning in correctly. This allows me to delve deeper into their current situation and provide valuable insights, guidance, and potential outcomes based on their specific needs and concerns.
What are, in your experience, some common misconceptions or myths surrounding psychic mediumship?
One popular misconception is that we know everything. It’s important to understand that we don’t have access to all knowledge or instantly know everything about someone upon meeting them. Our ability to perceive information is limited to what the spirit world wishes to convey, and this is typically for the greater good of the person we are reading. We don’t necessarily get fed information about what colour underwear someone is wearing simply because it is not important to the spirit world.
Another misconception is that psychics and mediums have the ability to read people’s minds. In reality, we are not tapping into their thoughts directly, but rather tuning into the energy they emit. If their energy aligns with their thoughts or concerns, we may be able to pick up on it and provide clarity surrounding the situation. It’s important to emphasise that this process is based on perceiving and interpreting energy, and not reading people’s minds.
There is also a common belief that being Psychic is a prerequisite for people living a ‘spiritually enlightened lifestyle’. However, this is not always the case. Many individuals who lead ordinary lives, such as raising families, pursuing careers, and engaging in various interests, can possess remarkable Psychic abilities without having a strong spiritual inclination. Psychic abilities can manifest in people from all walks of life, regardless of their level of involvement in spirituality or religion.
What can people learn from your courses?
I firmly believe that everyone has the potential to connect either Psychically or Mediumistically, and my courses are designed to help individuals tap into their innate abilities and help develop them further. One of the key aspects of my courses is identifying and understanding your strongest Psychic “sense” that each person possesses. Whether they are predominantly Clairvoyant (clear-seeing), Clairaudient (clear-hearing), Clairsentient (clear-feeling), or Claircognizant (clear-knowing). I work closely with them to determine their unique strengths and guide them in honing those abilities.
To help strengthen your Psychic abilities, I facilitate a variety of exercises both in-person and online. These exercises serve as a means of training your Psychic muscle, allowing people to develop and refine their intuitive skills. Some examples of exercises we cover include photo readings, name readings, psychometry, etc. By practicing these exercises, you’ll gain confidence and experience in receiving and interpreting messages from the spirit world.
My courses also focus on raising awareness of the messages and signs we receive from the spirit world on a daily basis. These messages are often subtle, and it’s easy to miss them if we’re not attuned to them. By increasing your heightened sense of awareness, you’ll become more aware of recognising and understanding the messages that are constantly being sent to you.
Additionally, I explore the concept of “gut instinct,” which is actually the ability of Clairsentience. Through development, you can learn to not only sense whether something feels good or bad but also gain insights into the specific nature of the situation. Overall, my aim is to provide a supportive learning environment where you can develop your skills, expand your awareness, and unlock the full potential of your Psychic and Mediumistic abilities.
