Mary Rodwell is internationally recognized as one of Australia’s foremost researchers and authors in the field of UFO and contact phenomena. Founder of the Australian Close Encounter Resource Network (ACERN), she has worked with over 3,000 cases, offering counselling, hypnotherapy, and support to individuals and families experiencing anomalous encounters. She is the author of Awakening: How Extraterrestrial Contact Can Transform Your Life and The New Human, and has produced award-winning documentaries exploring extraterrestrial communication and healing. Through her pioneering research, writing, and international speaking, Mary has brought global attention to star children, human consciousness shifts, and the transformative potential of contact experiences. You founded the Australian Close Encounter Resource Network (ACERN) in 1997, which offers professional counselling, hypnotherapy, and support for people experiencing anomalous contact phenomena. What motivated you at that time to commit to this work, and how has ACERN evolved since its inception?
When I began to support individuals with Contact Experiencers with Non Human Intelligences (NHI) a few years prior to creating ACERN I realised very quickly that this was not a rare experience at all, and what I was seeing was the ‘tip’ of the proverbial iceberg. So many individuals were having ‘encounters’ but had no one they felt they could share these experiences with because of lack of information and a ‘truth embargo’ on this reality. So I decided to create a professional resource where the individuals could share with someone who understood the complexity of this phenomena and had the skills to support their journey with this.
With a background as a nurse, midwife, health educator, professional counsellor, and hypnotherapist, how have these diverse experiences shaped your approach to supporting individuals with contact or abduction experiences?
My personal experiences and professional journey as a counsellor and hypnotherapist helped me to acknowledge that we live not just in a physical world but a multidimensional one. That we have a soul that inhabits a physical biological body, but our essence is pure spirit.
When I have worked with an individual with hypnosis this becomes even more evident as the subconscious can access more of the soul information as it doesn’t edit like the conscious mind does. It can reveal information on past lives as well as a present life. It can reveal recall of events in far more detail than conscious recall, such as what happens when someone is taken aboard a craft for example and what telepathic exchange occurred. This information can be life changing and answers many questions the individuals have wondered about such as “ Why me’ “what’s this all about” what do they want of me etc and “did I agree on some level?’
Your research spans over 3,000 documented cases and explores contact phenomena from scientific, biological, psychological, anthropological, spiritual, and historical perspectives. Could you share how you integrate these disciplines in your work and what conclusions they’ve guided you toward?
When I became involved in this Phenomenon, it raised many questions for me as it does with those coming to terms with the reality of their Contact experiences. How to validate its reality when it’s denied by mainstream thinking, including modern psychology and psychiatry.
The individual is often very frightened not only of the experiences but questioning their sanity.
I needed to research information that could prove this was in fact a reality and that included whistleblower information. I have met many whistleblowers who confirm what the government has hidden from the public. But also explored evidence regarding anomalies in human DNA that indicate we are “intelligently “ designed. “Life itself” DR Francis Crick Co-founder of the DNA molecule stated that he believed we were “intelligently designed”. Evidence that many of the so-called Gods of old were in fact Extraterrestrials, not Gods at all. Archaeological artefacts that show “beings’ and space craft from all over the globe. That there are many anomalies around the globe that indicate civilization is much older than we are told. This research has offered a far more valid and tangible evidence to help the Experiencer accept the truth of their reality,
Essential to your mission, you also serve as director and chair of the Experiencer Support Programs for the Foundation for Research into Extraterrestrial Encounters (FREE), and as an advisory committee member for Exopolitics. How do these roles complement or expand on your work with ACERN?
I have linked with a number of organisations to network and share research. This provides more global support and helps to support my work in Australia, as my clients are now from a global source.
It has been heartening that these organisations have affirmed my research and especially the DR Edgar Mitchell ( FREE) foundations survey of 4,200 globally with 600 questions demonstrated the complexity of this phenomenon and validated my conclusions in my first book Awakening “ How Extraterrestrial Contact can Transform your life.’
In the survey 85% had a psycho-spiritual transformation after Contact.
But also my connection to other sources of information and support makes networking an important part of my work.
Many experiencers describe their contact as life-changing, sometimes even profoundly spiritual. In all your years of listening to these stories, what has been the most personally moving or transformative moment for you as a researcher and counsellor?
As I have stated above, for most once the reality of their connection to these intelligences has been integrated, most have found it to be very transformative in their life both in life /spiritual perspectives. A deep connection to Mother Earth, connection to all living things, plants and animals etc. Deeply aware of the connection to all human life and the desire to assist and preserve it. A sense of mission and purpose. Connection to their multidimensional reality such as aware of their “spirit guides’ or Non Human Guides. Feeling energies, healing abilities, and sensing thoughts of others. Expansion of their clairvoyance, clairaudience etc. which can be challenging for them to begin with.
Just to add awakening to this reality can come in many ways. A result of a Near Death Experience, after an Out of Body Experience(OBE) mediumship/channelling, energy healing and or a shamanic experience. I also want to end by stating that those with Contact will most often have children that have Contact and they are not generally as fearful at all, show extraordinary gifts and their stories in my second book The New Human show how many have incarnated to be part of the awakening of humanity.
