Care, Compassion & Courage - Rev. Dr. Kymberley Clemons-Jones

Rev. Dr. Kymberley Clemons-Jones, known as Rev. KC, is a spiritual guide, author, and coach with a deep commitment to helping others grow. With degrees in Counseling and Divinity, she integrates holistic practices like Emotional Freedom Techniques and Reiki into her work. She’s a respected pastor, a leader in the Presbytery of Long Island, and the founder of the Community Healing and Caring Center. Through her writing and mentoring, Rev. KC empowers people worldwide to embrace their spirituality and live authentically. MysticMag shares some of Rev. KC’s key insights.

Kymberley, your journey has been marked by a profound commitment to spiritual guidance and transformative growth. How has this journey shaped your approach to soul care coaching and emotional healing?

As a retired pastor of a Christian congregation, I’ve been privileged to serve others for over 14 years. My background in ministry, social work, counseling, and prophetic activism has equipped me to support individuals on their spiritual journeys using different modalities and educational tools. From this wealth of experience, I founded my Soul Care coaching practice.
Our world is filled with soul-shaking experiences like loss, grief, and imbalance. Often, we’re eager to reach the pinnacle of our spiritual growth without addressing the underlying issues haunting our souls. Soul Care coaching provides a space to deeply explore what our souls need for healing and spiritual fulfillment. Imagine the soul as soil—sometimes it needs nurturing, tending, and nourishment before it’s ready to receive the seeds of spirit. We must cultivate our souls to create fertile ground for spiritual growth. This preparation leads to genuine emotional healing and profound transformation.

As a multifaceted individual, you integrate various modalities such as Soul Care coaching, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), and Reiki healing. How do these modalities support individuals in their healing and personal growth journey?

I utilize a variety of disciplines to aid my clients in their healing journeys, integrating these tools for maximum effectiveness. Deep listening is central to my coaching approach—an art distinguishing mere hearing from deep listening and understanding. Through “Holy Spirit” listening, I gain divine guidance, allowing insights to flow as I work with clients.
One of my key techniques is “Your Soul Autobiography,” a method through which I guide clients in exploring and addressing past traumas that may hinder them from living full and meaningful lives. I frequently incorporate Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), empowering clients to release emotional blockages by tapping sequences on specific acupressure points on their bodies. During Reiki sessions, I will often combine energy work with client participation, facilitating the movement of blocked energy while tapping into their body’s innate wisdom. This holistic approach ensures comprehensive healing on multiple levels, addressing emotional and energetic imbalances for deep and lasting change.

Could you share with us a particularly impactful moment or transformation you’ve witnessed in someone through your soul care coaching or healing sessions?

It’s challenging to pinpoint a moment as the most transformative in my coaching journey. Rather, the ongoing process of being present and supporting my clients through their toughest times stands out. Walking alongside them and asking the right questions at the right moments has proven pivotal in facilitating perspective shifts and fostering transformation.
Consider the aftermath of a significant life event: clients often find themselves overwhelmed, grappling with a sense of imbalance that permeates every aspect of their lives. Relationships with family members and friends, work dynamics, and even their sense of identity undergo shifts in the wake of negative and sometimes even positive occurrences. As a coach, being there to navigate these changes with them is not just essential—it’s the cornerstone of meaningful change.

Your dedication to service extends to founding the Community Healing and Caring Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing growth and healing. What inspired you to establish this center, and what impact has it had on the community?

The creation of CHCC has been a journey fueled by love. It began with an incident involving my eldest son, Jeyson, who, at 16, was brutally attacked by five boys while returning home from a track meet. He had his earbuds in and wasn’t aware of his surroundings. The assault left him with a broken jaw, fractures, and a concussion. During his surgery, I fervently prayed not only for his recovery but also for all the marginalized youth who faced similar risks and injustices.
At that moment, I had a vision inspired by the divine: a poster on a police station wall featuring a youth wanted not for crimes but for their inherent worth and potential. With this vision in mind, I hastily scribbled down on a napkin the acronym W.A.N.T.E.D.: Worthy, Accountable, Named, Thankful, Empowered, and Determined. Thus, the W.A.N.T.E.D. Project was born just a month after my son’s release from the hospital, bringing together 15 boys of color.
The essence of the program lies in weekly sessions where mentors from diverse backgrounds, including lawyers, law enforcement officers, psychologists, teachers, and even celebrities, engage with the boys on topics related to being wanted for positive reasons by their families and communities. Currently operating in New York, Connecticut, and Ghana, West Africa, in a Juvenile Detention Center, The W.A.N.T.E.D. Project has successfully guided over 500 youth toward positive transformation. During COVID, a girl’s program was instituted as well. Our mission extends globally as we aspire to share this empowering program with youth worldwide.

You’re also involved in coach certification training. What motivated you to start this program, and what do you hope participants will gain from it in terms of personal and professional growth?

My passion for coaching runs so deep that I’m driven to inspire others to join this field. I usually reach women who are retired, almost retired and thinking about their next steps, and those who want to supplement their knowledge like ministers, social workers and nurses. Our communities are brimming with individuals facing diverse challenges, yet each person possesses unique gifts that can uplift others. With the proper coaching tools, we all have the power to bring positive change globally.
The ethos of “Each one, teach one” underpins my mission. I provide a foundational certification program in transformational coaching and continuous support for aspiring coaches eager to make a difference in people’s lives. Together, we can empower individuals and communities to realize their full potential and achieve their goals, fostering a brighter, more compassionate world.
