When did you first recognize your calling as an energy healer, and how did it unfold?
The label “Energy Healer” isn’t one I embrace. I believe healing is a personal journey; individuals heal themselves. My role is that of a guide, coach, and teacher, facilitating self-healing journeys.
My mission is to empower others to realize their innate capabilities. I’ve never considered myself more special than anyone else; if I can tap into these abilities, so can others. It’s about remembering.
My journey began in childhood, but I suppressed my abilities due to fear of the unknown. It wasn’t until I underwent a DNA activation session through the Mystery School in Cape Town just before my 30th birthday that I started reclaiming these dormant abilities.
What services do you offer?
I provide private sessions and workshops, available both online and in person, designed to guide and coach individuals on their journey of self-discovery and empowerment. Through these sessions, I assist others in reconnecting with their true selves and unlocking their innate abilities.
My services include teaching individuals how to clear their own energy fields and spaces, as well as facilitating communication with their higher selves. I empower clients to discern between their inner voice and their higher self’s guidance.
Additionally, my husband and I offer coaching and guidance for individuals healing from past traumas, incorporating sacred plant medicine ceremonies. We utilize audiovisual therapies developed by my husband to enhance the healing process during these ceremonies, with the ultimate goal of reconnecting individuals to their joy center.
If given the opportunity to guide your younger self, what counsel would you offer to a younger Layla?
To my younger self, I would offer these words of guidance:
The world you perceive isn’t as it’s portrayed to be. You’ve been conditioned to conform and disconnect from your truth since childhood.
Recognize the manipulation and programming aimed at keeping you from realizing your full potential. Trust in your direct connection with the creator, accessed through your soul. Amidst a world shrouded in deception, this connection is your beacon of truth.
Embrace your innate power as a creator. Your ability to shape your reality is limitless. Take ownership of your choices and actions, for therein lies your strength.
Remember, your light eclipses any shadows. By choosing goodness, you wield unparalleled power. Know your worth, embrace your deserving nature, and love yourself unconditionally.
Is it true that you were expelled from a mystery school?
My journey with the Mystery School began during a challenging chapter of my life, where I found solace and transformation through their teachings. I underwent profound experiences, including a life-altering DNA activation and various workshops that led me to attain my adept initiation.
As I immersed myself in the teachings and began sharing them with others, I felt a deep sense of purpose and fulfilment. However, when faced with financial constraints preventing me from advancing to the next level of training, I sought assistance from the school’s master, only to be met with a response that left me questioning the integrity of the institution.
My disillusionment deepened when I witnessed favouritism toward a new student granted access to advanced training solely based on financial means rather than readiness.
Feeling disheartened, I sought guidance through meditation and connected with Archangel Michael in the great Halls of Learning. I expressed my commitment to the work but also my uncertainties about the Mystery School and whether I was being led astray by those running it. In response, Archangel Michael revealed to me that I had been a Warrior of the Light for thousands of lifetimes, and he restored some of my memories. I saw that I had always rebelled against those who sought to suppress and control others, and that my experience with the Mystery School was a part of my journey to realize the power and knowledge within myself.
This revelation profoundly shifted my perspective. It made me realize that while external teachings and guidance are valuable, ultimately, the power and knowledge lie within us. This newfound understanding led me to question the motives and teachings of the Mystery School elders, particularly when I observed discrepancies in their actions. I shared my insights with others in the Mystery School, but unfortunately, my perspective was not welcomed by the elders. They seemed intent on maintaining control and authority over the students, rather than empowering them to discover their own truth.
Since parting ways with the Mystery School, my mission has been to empower individuals to trust their direct connection with their higher selves and the Creator, recognizing that true wisdom resides within, free from the limitations of external authorities.
In essence, my expulsion from the Mystery School served as a pivotal moment in my journey, leading me to embrace a path of self-reliance and sovereignty, untethered by the constraints of hierarchical institutions.
What key insight did you gain from your experiences with demon hunting?
Ah, demon hunting. Now there’s a topic that always gets people talking! You know, when I first started out on my journey, I thought I needed all sorts of fancy rituals and tools to deal with dark energy. But over time, I came to realize that the most powerful weapon we have against darkness is love.
It sounds simple, I know, but it’s true. Love has a way of shining a light into even the darkest corners, dispelling fear and negativity with its warmth and compassion. And nowhere was this more evident than in my experiences with demon hunting.
I remember one particular encounter, when I found myself face to face with a truly formidable demon. I could feel its dark energy pressing in on me, threatening to overwhelm me with fear and despair. But instead of giving in to the darkness, I chose to meet it with love.
I started to laugh, almost instinctively, and as I did, I felt the demon’s energy begin to crackle and fade. It was like the laughter was breaking through its defences, exposing it for what it truly was: a creature of fear and insecurity.
In that moment, I realized that love is the most powerful force in the universe. It has the power to transform even the darkest of energies, to bring light where there was only darkness.
Since then, I’ve approached all my encounters with darkness with a sense of love and compassion. And you know what? It’s never failed me yet. So if there’s one lesson I’ve learned from demon hunting, it’s this: love truly is the greatest weapon we have against darkness, and it’s always within our reach.
Could you recount a significant “A-ha” moment that has significantly influenced your perspective on life?
It was a moment of profound reflection, nestled beneath a tree on Table Mountain, having consumed a dose of Psilocybin. As I lay there, contemplating life’s meaning, I couldn’t help but consider the pressures often felt by those on a spiritual journey to attain enlightenment and ascend.
In that serene moment, a palpable energy enveloped me, akin to a warm blanket of understanding. With every fibre of my being, I sensed that the essence of life lies in embracing the magic, wonder, and mystery that surrounds us.
In our daily lives, we have a sense of home – a place of safety and familiarity where we can rest and regroup before facing another day. Yet, when we embark on a spiritual retreat, our focus shifts. We immerse ourselves in the present moment, fully engaging to glean maximum value before returning to our routines.
Our spiritual home, however, lies in reuniting with the Source Creator – a realm of ultimate love, acceptance, and knowledge. While it offers security and connection, it can also become mundane, devoid of the excitement that comes with discovery.
Earth, on the other hand, is where we forget our truth upon incarnation. But rather than viewing it as a curse, it’s a blessing – a chance to experience life anew, with fresh eyes and boundless curiosity. It’s in this state of not-knowing, of seeking and discovering, that we truly experience the magic, wonder, and mystery of existence.
From the exhilaration of a first kiss to the profound realization of our own capabilities, each moment holds the potential for awe and wonder. Yet, many in the spiritual community are fixated on achieving ascension and returning “home,” missing out on the thrill of being present here on Earth.
So, while home may offer safety, it’s the journey – with all its uncertainties and adventures – that truly ignites our souls. After all, home may be comfortable, but it’s the unknown that makes life truly exhilarating.
