When did you first know that being a Reiki Therapist was your calling and how did it come about?
I studied Reiki casually for about 3 years before I got serious about it. It started sort of as an experiment. I wanted to see if this stuff was really real. And during my first training session, I got all the proof I needed! Over time, I realized Reiki checked all of the boxes for what I’d always wanted out of a job, so I finished my training and got certified!
What services do you offer?
I offer Intuitive Body Readings, Healing Circles, and Ascension Coaching. If a client would prefer a quieter, Reiki session with hand positions only, we can do that, too!
How would you describe Reiki and how does it help?
Reiki translates to “Life Force” and uses a specific range of divine frequency, which is passed to the client with the hands. This energy helps the body in its efforts to regain balance and jumpstarts the body’s natural healing process. It can also help to identify and release old emotions or memories that are no longer serving the client. Clients report feeling lighter and more relaxed after a session.
What is Body Reading?
A body reading is kind of like my own homespun energy work practice. When I began to practice Reiki, I learned that I would often (but not always!) receive information – in the form of words, images, and feelings – from client’s bodies, as well as ancestors, guides, and loved ones. With this information, I work with the client to sort out what these images might mean and how they can help us remove imbalances. In a sense, I use the body’s energetic field and the chakra system much in the way a reader would use a Tarot deck to gather information that needs to be passed on to the client.
What can a person expect from your sessions?
In-person sessions usually start with a short conversation in which the client can ask questions or mention specific things they’d like to work on. After that, we’ll move to the table (it’s like a massage table), and I will begin following the Reiki Hand positions to begin balancing the energy. I will often ask questions as I work, and it is up to the client whether they would like to answer or share any details around the question. The hand positions are generally performed with my hands a few inches above the client’s body.
For remote sessions, we’ll connect via video conference to start, and then I turn the camera off while I’m conducting the Reiki treatment. All the client has to do is relax in a comfortable spot. We’ll usually wrap up with a short debrief after the balancing is complete.
What do you love most about your profession?
I love being able to help clients feel better and release old burdens that they no longer need to carry. I also think it’s a ton of fun to work with clients to decipher the information that comes through for them. I am always so amazed at the spirit’s ability to find novel ways to tell us what we need to know.
