Can you share a bit about your personal journey and how you came to embrace shamanism and spirituality as a path for healing and self-discovery?
Following my parents’ separation in 1982, I embarked on a destructive path that ultimately led to my incarceration in the Pima County corrections facility. However, divine intervention intervened, as Odin influenced the judge’s decision, allowing me to serve a military tour in exchange for dropped charges. I accepted the opportunity.
Most of my three-year service with the US Marines was marked by addiction to heroin and cocaine. I returned to Tucson, Arizona, just forty-five days before my father’s death due to end-stage Renal Failure in March 1987. In the following two years, I descended into a tumultuous cycle of high-speed motorcycles, heroin, cocaine, and excessive alcohol consumption. In August 1989, I experienced a heroin overdose in a drain culvert in South Tucson, where I resided. Odin’s intervention once again saved me, as a stranger discovered me in the culvert and aided in my detoxification from heroin. After enduring two and a half months of a nightmarish detox process, I finally achieved sobriety. For the first time in seven years, I was clean.
During the nightmares and visions that accompanied the withdrawal from heroin, I was granted a path to connect with my ancestors and deities. Although I didn’t fully comprehend it at the time, new thought processes began to emerge from the haze. I realized that people in the world were in need of finding inner peace.
This realization set me on a path that eventually led me to meet my shieldmaiden, who would become my wife for over 33 years. Following our marriage, where she held strong beliefs in the Christian church and faith, I began to receive visions and knowledge that eventually led me to become ordained within the Christian church.
This is where I found my calling – helping others. Although I discovered my ability to assist others in finding peace, I still felt something was missing. Fast forward to 2017, when I was working with two different men who had just returned from combat assignments overseas. It was during these sessions that a profound realization struck me. I began to question many of the doctrines of Christianity and was visited by what I’ve come to know as the Landvætti, or spirits of the lands.
One particular spirit shared insights about my connection, my birthright, and the efforts of the all-father to save me. In my book “Turn to Final,” I write about a vision I had on my birthday in January 2020, during which I was visited by the all-father, Odin. Following this vision, I began experiencing spiritual trances. These trances continued up to the present. Late last year, I compiled a collection of these trances and published a book called “Turn to Final,” which is a collection of my understanding of spirituality applied to our lives.
As I’ve progressed through my education over the last seven years, I’ve uncovered answers that had eluded me during my deep studies of various monotheistic practices around the world. More importantly, I’ve come to realize that the spiritual entities I refer to as the Landvætti have chosen me due to my birthright as a 53rd generation Úlfhé∂nar of northern Denmark.
In your various podcast appearances, you’ve discussed the application of ancient spiritual practices in addressing modern psychological challenges. Could you elaborate on specific techniques or insights you’ve found particularly effective in helping individuals heal and find balance in today’s fast-paced world?
One of the primary practices we can learn involves embracing the simplicity of our ancestry. By slowing down our thought processes and focusing our energy on what is truly essential, we can discover a more peaceful existence. I encourage people to reconnect with their individual ancestry, fostering a deep understanding and pride in their cultural heritage. This sense of pride becomes a source of inner energy that helps individuals navigate times of low energy, overcoming states of depression and anxiety.
Additionally, learning to be accountable for our mental well-being is crucial. Prioritizing self-healing and personal growth empowers us to manage our own mental states effectively. In essence, we primarily focus on harnessing the energy available to us and ensure that we can balance our mental health to thrive in the modern world.
Many people are interested in the concept of connecting with their spiritual ancestors. Can you explain how you guide individuals in rekindling this connection and why it’s important in the context of mental and emotional well-being?
Reconnecting with one’s spiritual ancestors involves a two-pronged approach in my journey. The first part includes delving into our ancestors’ genealogy and the history of their culture and tribes. Immersing oneself in these aspects can lead to a deep connection as you start embracing the desires and needs of your ancestors.
This research can also lead to acquiring cultural items and participating in holidays and observances, further fostering a connection. The second aspect is about listening to your heart during your studies. By being receptive to your heart’s guidance, you can begin to feel the desires of your ancestors as you gain more knowledge about them. Letting go of preconceived notions about their culture and their spiritual understanding allows you to have more clarity in knowing what you need to learn.
Our focus directs our personal energy, and as individuals focus on their ancestors, they send spiritual energy to them. In return, this energy empowers us with an internal energy boost that can be used for various needs. Starting the exploration into your ancestry is often best initiated through meditation, with a focus on the culture and the idea of your ancestors in your mind. Listening with your heart to the spirits around you can be surprisingly enlightening, sometimes even revealing ancestors from different cultural heritages. The diversity of human ancestry opens up numerous possibilities within our minds.
The intersection of spirituality and mental health is a fascinating topic. Can you provide an example from your experience of how delving into the spiritual realm has had a positive impact on someone’s mental health or emotional healing journey?
Fully embracing our personal spirituality allows for a profound understanding of energy management in the spiritual realm. Energy from various sources can have either a positive or negative polarity. Knowing how to manage this input is essential, whether one believes in spirituality or not. Learning to manage one’s personal energy gives us the power to separate negative energy patterns from event memories, enabling us to recall these events without their associated negative emotional impact.
By embracing our personal energy, we understand that we always have the authority to make changes in our lives. Choosing to eliminate depression or anxiety from our minds becomes a conscious decision we can make whenever we choose. Many individuals who have visited me initially felt “stuck” in a cycle of depression, but by embracing the spiritual energy around us, they realize they are never trapped in a place they don’t wish to be. When people report feeling “beaten down” or lacking the energy to face their challenges, I help them understand that they possess the energy to eliminate negativity from their lives.
By embracing our ancestral knowledge of energy management, we can discard negativity, leading to improved mental health and the ability to choose happiness and contentment.
You’ve mentioned discussions on cultural and historical aspects of spirituality in your interviews. How do you see culture and spirituality intertwined, and what can individuals do to honor and embrace their cultural and spiritual roots?
In the days before monotheism spread across the world, there was no separation between one’s cultural identity and their spiritual beliefs. People, such as the Celts, worshiped their gods as an integral part of their identity. Similarly, those who embraced Norse beliefs did so as a unified cultural practice. The distinction between being Norse and Scandinavian or Celtic and something else only emerged when monotheism sought to suppress other practices.
Initially, our ancestors viewed spirituality as an inseparable part of their identity and society, intertwined with every aspect of their lives. By reconnecting with our ancestors, we can break free from the monotheistic influences that have shaped our understanding of spirituality over the centuries. This process opens up a broader understanding of spirituality, which is unique to each individual’s connection with their own personal spirituality.
In one of your interviews, you discussed the interplay between genetics and the spiritual realm. Can you share more about your insights on how our genetic composition interacts with the spiritual world and how this knowledge can help people better understand themselves and their experiences?
This topic is among the most intriguing insights I’ve received during my spiritual trances. Because we are spiritual beings experiencing a physical existence, our personal spirituality is deeply connected to our biological selves. We have the ability to alter our DNA structure within our biological processes, influencing the subsequent generations of cells within our bodies. These changes can be influenced by our food sources, environment, and our emotions.
Emotions play a significant role, as it’s the chemicals released during emotional experiences that can lead to alterations in our DNA. Since our spiritual selves are profoundly connected to our physical bodies, this can lead to shifts in our attitudes and responses to external stimuli. Understanding this process provides us with the opportunity to influence, or prevent, certain changes in our evolutionary path. Our minds are intricately intertwined with our spiritual selves. This connection sometimes leads to experiences like déjà vu, where our physical minds recognize something from the vast reservoir of our spiritual consciousness.
Just as atoms have a nucleus at their core and electrons in motion around them, representing the physical and spiritual realms, our existence is similarly split into these components. When these aspects are out of balance, both atoms and our lives can be adversely affected. This profound connection of our spiritual self to our molecular physical self allows us to influence our evolution. By grasping this concept, we can take control of our evolution by understanding the link between our physical and spiritual selves.
