Harness The Power of The Mind and The Body - Eugene Chow

MysticMag was privileged enough to chat with Eugene Chow from Radiant Flow. Radiant Flow offers effective and targeted holistic therapy that has been clinically proven to restore health and well-being. Their therapies encompass a wide range of benefits, including addressing depression, anxiety, and helping individuals achieve their personal goals.

Can you tell us about your background and what led you to become a hypnotherapist, energy healer, and nutrition therapist?

My background is in software engineering. I constructed online cloud systems and hacked iPhones throughout my rat race. Growing up, I never thought of being a healer, but life has a way of taking unexpected turns.

In 2004, my mother received a stage 4 lung cancer diagnosis but I failed to understand the gravity of her situation. Little did I know that it meant a death sentence. Two years later, I finally woke up to the reality that conventional medicine had given up on her. I desperately looked for alternative healing methods, but regrettably, it was already too late. She succumbed to the dreaded disease and I sank deep into depression.

I had already developed a number of chronic conditions by that point. Depression added a new dimension to my suffering on top of more than 40 unique chronic conditions. Some of my best buddies were sinusitis, IBS, candida infection, gluten intolerance, joint pain, early dementia, and chronic fatigue.

I’m one tough cookie but after years of being sick from head to toe, I lost it. In a desperate move, I jumped into a raw vegan diet of juices and salads. I still have no idea how I made it through that for a whole year! The change in diet helped but the healing was still incomplete. I jumped from diet to diet like a rabbit in search of The One to put an end to my torment. Alas! There was no sign of it.

Out of sheer desperation, I departed from nutrition to try hypnotherapy, past life regression, reiki and others. The healing experience was nothing short of a miracle! You mean I could heal with nothing but the power of my mind and cosmic energy? I was in awe! Curiosity got the better of me and I pursued my studies in the healing arts.

As I recovered, I realised that it would be wonderful to use my healing skills to help others. Helping humans get themselves fixed was far more satisfying than fixing computers.

I made the decision to quit my well-paying profession at the beginning of the epidemic in order to finish my recovery and maybe start a new career as a healer. At many junctures, I seriously wanted to chicken out and return to tech work. I swear it was terrifying to leap into an abyss while keeping faith that the path would appear as I walked. I’m sure my angels worked overtime to keep me safe!

One thing led to another and things did turn out well. My fears were unwarranted.

Today, two years later, I’m delighted to report that full recovery is in sight. In a surprising turn of events, nutrition once more helped me recuperate remarkably. As a result, I provide all the healing techniques that have had a beneficial influence on me at my therapy practice, Radiant Flow.

Can you describe the types of therapies that Radiant Flow offers and how they can help people struggling with depression and anxiety?

By providing a variety of healing treatments instead of just one, Radiant Flow stands apart from the rest. Twenty years of self-healing have taught me the harsh lesson that there isn’t a single answer to every issue.

Think about how rusty your bicycle would be if you left it outside for ten years. You have addressed the underlying cause of the rusting issue by bringing it indoors. But it’s still rusted, and the only way to get rid of all the rust is to sand it. Finally, oil must be applied to it in order to stop additional rusting. As you can see, it requires two processes to completely remove the rust and a third to keep it that way.

The human body and mind are the same. If depression and anxiety were to persist for many years, the body would suffer severe harm.

I constantly try to solve my client’s underlying issue. For depression and anxiety, I would advise hypnosis because the mind is almost often the source of these conditions. Typically, a painful childhood memory surfaces and the client makes peace with it. Depending on the client’s preferences, I may advise EFT Tapping or even nutrition for the symptoms that persist.

My motto is “heal swiftly and completely” and I want to help others achieve that. The faster they heal, the better.

How do you customize your therapy approach for each individual client, and what factors do you take into consideration when doing so?

Every single one of my clients receives individualised care. My top priorities are the person’s preferences, lifestyle, and financial situation.

Hypnotherapy, for instance, might be useful and efficient, but not everyone feels comfortable sharing their most vulnerable self. I would then suggest EFT Tapping or Reiki Healing, which enable them to recover without directly addressing their issues.

Even hypnotherapy patients with comparable symptoms, such as anxiety, receive individualised treatment. Regardless of whether I use the same induction strategy every time, I constantly adapt dependent on the client’s responses. Never are any two sessions the same.

In one unique case, my client was a hyperactive 8-year-old. His mother requested hypnosis to treat his disruptive behaviour in school. He refused to lie down and close his eyes even for one second! At my wits end, I suggested nutrition therapy to her and happily, her son embraced it. His behaviour improved so dramatically over the first two weeks of the therapy that his teachers could tell a change.

How do you ensure that your holistic therapies are clinically proven and evidence-based?

In the age of logic and reasoning, people demand scientific proof before going for therapy. I’m well aware of that because I was one of them.

Without going into the weeds, I’m delighted to share that a large number of clinical study articles have confirmed the effectiveness of hypnotherapy, EFT Tapping, and even energy healing techniques like Reiki. All over the internet, plenty of anecdotes are evidence that these healing modalities work. Numerous anecdotes may be found online as proof that these therapeutic practices are effective. Any research, after all, starts with anecdotes. When it’s time to test a theory, researchers run clinical trials.

The strongest proof that my work has improved my clients’ lives, at least in my eyes, comes from their positive testimonials. The proof is in the pudding as they say.

Can you share a success story from one of your clients who has benefited from Radiant Flow’s therapies?
Jamie (name changed) was suffering severe fear and anxiety episodes. Tears formed in her eyes as she described a contentious conversation with a coworker. She was about to lose it.

The paradox of therapy is the more severe the problem, the faster the recovery. I know I’m on the right track when I see tears.

During hypnotherapy, she discovered that a childhood trauma was the cause of her current troubles. Peeling back the layers of emotions to get to the bottom of the matter helped her access the trauma.

As a child, Jamie experienced verbal, emotional, mental, and even sexual abuse. Furthermore, it didn’t help that she had to endure financial hardship as a young child. She was so overwhelmed by her mental and emotional weight that she contemplated suicide at an early age. It’s no wonder that her life was breaking apart.

The session was a resounding success! Jamie was able to release a ton of deep fears and trepidations. A week later, she reported feeling much calmer and less triggered. None of her original symptoms remained by the next appointment.

In the second session, we focused on her persistent money problems and financial concerns. Three weeks later, the tables had turned. Money was coming into her life in a number of ways, and she even found money on the street! In life, there are no coincidences…

The phrase “as within, so without” perfectly sums up her predicament. Her surrounding circumstances were a reflection of how she felt inside.

Her money problems, anxiety and fears vanished in a number of weeks. She rediscovered her confidence, the ability to stand her ground, emotional stability, peace, and more. These good qualities were , but they were hidden by layers of negativity.

What advice would you give to someone who is interested in pursuing a career in holistic therapy or becoming a hypnotherapist, energy healer, or nutrition therapist?

Foraying into the field of holistic therapy can be challenging, especially if you’re used to a steady salary from a fulltime job. It’s best to start off small in your new career for this reason. Don’t follow in my footsteps because I left my job years before starting my new career. I’m a terrible example 😝

Mingle with the local community of healers. Find out how other therapists expanded their practices. My dogmatic thinking used to catch me off guard, and I used to feel confused when my business didn’t succeed. Speaking with other established therapists helped me find ways to thrive.

Connect with the healers community in your area. Learn from other therapists how they grew their practice. I used to be blindsided by my dogmatic thinking and felt lost when my business failed to thrive. Speaking with other established therapists showed me the light at the end of the tunnel.

Avoid relying solely on word-of-mouth. Promote your services through a variety of platforms, particularly the internet. The internet is your oyster, and digital marketing is now accessible to everyone. To get leads, try offering free online presentations and ebooks, working with others to promote mental wellbeing, and attending wellness fairs. Too many options exist for promoting your services!

Create several different sources of income. As you develop your therapy practice, do other jobs to pay the bills. Aside from your area of expertise, think about learning additional therapeutic modalities. Being a jack of a few (not too many!) trades helps you craft a niche that attracts a certain client profile. Also find a sustainable investment method to earn passive money that can help you get through lean times. After accomplishing all of that, remember to schedule time to conduct therapy sessions. You’ll undoubtedly be drawn to the jobs that pay the most money and end up stuck doing them.

Be kind to yourself lastly. Keep calm and carry on because success is a marathon that yields results with persistent work.

I send you my warmest wishes for a rewarding career as a therapist!
