Fiona, can you share more about your journey into the world of healing arts and how it has shaped your approach to therapy and healing?

My journey began many years ago when I was 24. I’ve always been spiritual and interested in health, cleansing, and fitness, which really prepared me for what was to come. One night, on Friday the 13th, I was attacked. In hindsight, it was the catalyst that put me on my healing path. At that time, I had a fantastic job, I had just successfully completed a three month trial for and had been celebrating with my boss at a ‘congratulation’ lunch. However, the assault changed everything.

For the next three months, I juggled my new job with police interviews and the physical, mental, and emotional effects of the assault. Eventually, I collapsed from glandular fever and had to take six weeks of bed rest. During this time, I began focusing on my nutrition and overall well-being, determined not to let the assault define me. I sought help from a psychiatrist, although our sessions didn’t resonate with me. Instead, I decided to learn from this experience and use it to help others.

I embarked on a journey of full-time work whilst studying psychology, psychotherapy, and hypnotherapy. I wanted to work with the mind and help people deal with life’s challenges. This experience shaped my approach to therapy, always pushing my clients to step out of their comfort zones.

Over the years, I’ve dealt with my own health issues, including precancerous cells, which I treated successfully. When I collapsed again at 47, just six months into my marriage, due to adrenal issues, I sought alternative treatments. I found a medical specialist who supported my decision to treat myself, combining medical advice with my own knowledge.

Now, I help others as a healing partner, investing my time and experience to discern their needs and guide them on their healing journeys. I also work with animals, including my rescued horses, dogs, and lambs, using energy work and Reiki to help them heal. My life experiences, combined with my learned skills and crafts, allow me to not only help others but also to continuously learn and grow on my own path of healing and self-discovery.

What are some of the key therapies and practices you offer, and how do they work together to promote holistic harmony and healing?

My journey has helped me understand an important principle in healing: we often treat where the symptom is manifesting, aiming to alleviate the pain or emotional trauma. However, healing is not just about addressing the physical or emotional aspects manifesting; it is also beneficial to seek the cause, what, when, where, why here, why now? It may also have a spiritual or soul-level aspect.

I once had a client who came to me saying, “My soul feels crushed.” This statement highlighted the deep, soul-level work that was needed. In my practice, I draw from a variety of therapies, including psychology, psychotherapy, and neurolinguistic programming. When clients share their experiences with me, I listen not just to their words, but also to how they express themselves, noting what they say and what they leave unsaid.

In addition to the mind and soul, I also work with the body, using nutrition, herbs, and essential oils to support overall well-being. I believe that what we put into our bodies greatly impacts our emotional and physical health.

I aim to provide my clients with an holistic view of themselves incorporating various modalities such as essential oils, which can be used topically, inhaled, or ingested through herbal teas. I also practice energy work, particularly Reiki, both hands-on and through teaching. I empower my clients to take charge of their own health, well-being, lives,  especially in times when accessing traditional healthcare may be challenging, such as during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sound and vibration are integral parts of my practice, as they have profound effects on living matter, humans, animals, plants, even the earth itself. I also incorporate shamanic work; ‘shaman’ translates as one who ‘vibrates with spirit’ and is deep work.

My approach is inclusive of all belief systems, as I believe that love and light are universal forces that transcend religious or spiritual labels. Whether someone believes in Christ, Quan Yin, or any other deity or force, I approach them with the same love and light.

When clients come to me with specific issues, such as a fear of flying for an upcoming wedding, I assess if I can help them and, if so, work with them to achieve their goals in as few sessions as possible. I do not believe in long-term therapy that keeps clients dependent; instead, I aim to empower them to live their lives fully and freely.

It brings me immense joy and fulfillment to see my clients make progress and feel empowered to live their lives to the fullest. Whether it’s helping people or animals, each step toward healing is a step toward a brighter, healthier future.

How do you tailor your treatments to individual clients, and what factors do you consider when creating bespoke treatment plans?

For each individual client, I consider their goals, the timeframe they have in mind, and their personal idiosyncrasies. I take into account who they are as a person and their journey from where they were to where they are now, including whatever challenges they’ve faced.

When clients speak, I listen not just to their words but also to what they don’t say, picking up on their emotions and how they express themselves. I tune into their energy, using my intuition and the skills I’ve developed over the years to understand their unique needs.

I often see colors, pictures, and feel sensations, which guide me in tailoring my approach to best assist them. My work is completely personalized. I include my client in my thought process ensuring that they resonate with what I suggest as the way forward. Each client receives a unique and tailored experience based on their individual needs and circumstances, in that moment.

How do you approach working with animals, and what benefits can they experience from vibrational and energy healing?

When working with animals, I always start by engaging with their owner to understand the issue at hand and what they have observed. I listen carefully to the owner’s insights, but my focus then shifts to the animal itself. I work with the animal, using my hands to sense, my intuition as guide and I do energy and shamanic work simultaneously. Animals respond well also to healing with sound and vibration too. Having several therapies at my fingertips I am able to do several simultaneously.

Initially, I use Reiki and energy work directly on the animal. As I work, I also extend this energy to encompass the owner, as the energy and emotions of both can influence each other. I consider the animal’s environment as well, especially for horses in yard environments or for dogs and cats in home settings.

While I don’t conduct psychotherapy in the traditional sense with animals, I use energy and vibrational work, often employing dowsing to identify food intolerances or clear stagnant energy. I also utilize sound and vibration, sometimes using bowls to enable deep peace, as well as specifically directed work, within their vibrational level to facilitate positive change.

Unlike working with humans, where I can directly communicate and tailor the therapy, with animals, I often record the sound and vibrations used during the session for the owner to continue at home. Animals respond remarkably to healing, and their reactions are often quite clear, showing their comfort and acceptance.

I have some sessions recorded on my YouTube channel, showcasing my work with animals like Angel, one of my horses, and Millie, my dog who had a mast cell tumour and was given three months to live. Millie lived for three more happy years despite the grim initial prognosis, passing away at the age of 17. Animals are incredibly receptive to healing, and witnessing their response is truly remarkable.

You’ve mentioned using sound therapy for healing and harmony. Could you elaborate on how sound therapy works and its effects on the body, mind, and soul?

A huge topic! Sound and vibration therapy is deeply rooted in ancient practices, dating back to Pythagoras and the Egyptians to name just two. It has been used in religious ceremonies across various faiths and cultures, indicating its universal significance. Despite its ancient origins, it remains a potent and effective form of therapy, especially when considering its holistic nature.

Sound and vibration therapy harnesses the inherent vibrational properties of sound waves. Even though we may not always hear these vibrations, they are constantly present and affecting us, much like how an opera singer can shatter glass with a high note. This is because everything in the universe, including ourselves, is made up of atoms vibrating at different frequencies. By using sound and vibration intentionally, we can influence these vibrations for healing purposes.

One key aspect of sound and vibration therapy is its effect on stress reduction. When we experience stress, our body chemistry changes, leading to imbalances. Sound therapy helps to restore balance by triggering the release of hormones like dopamine and endorphins, which are responsible for feelings of happiness and pain relief, respectively. This can have a profound impact on our overall well-being, promoting relaxation and calmness and in this place of peace holistic harmony can flourish.

Additionally, sound therapy can entrain brainwaves, guiding our minds into states of deep relaxation or heightened awareness. This can be particularly beneficial for those dealing with anxiety or sleep disorders, as it can help regulate sleep patterns and promote restful sleep.

Furthermore, sound therapy has been shown to reduce inflammation and boost immune function, contributing to overall health and vitality. It can also balance the body’s energy centers, known as Chakras, promoting harmony and alignment within the body’s energy system. This deeper connection between the mind and body can lead to increased self-awareness, mindfulness, and inner peace.

In essence, sound and vibration therapy is a powerful tool that can positively impact our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Its ancient roots and modern scientific backing (4OO as of 2024) make it a valuable, enjoyable and even fun addition to holistic healing practices.
