What inspired you to create the “Journey Back To Me” program, and how does your personal journey, especially with your son Spencer, influence the guidance you provide to participants?

What inspired me to create this program was my personal journey of rediscovering myself—a journey that began in the aftermath of losing my son, who passed in February 2019. His departure left me feeling lost, trapped, and profoundly empty, as he had been in my full-time care, especially over the last seven years of his life, during which he required 24/7 attention on a ventilator. In the days after he was gone, my life spiraled, and I reached a point where staying felt unbearable. His care had been my life, and without it, I didn’t know where to turn.
To find myself again—and to decide if I could find the strength to stay—I began a path of self-discovery. I took to hiking mountains and exploring caves, carrying Spencer’s ashes with me, all while thinking I might be led to leave his ashes in one of those sacred places. These were Mayan caves, steeped in ceremony and traditions around death, and I kept expecting I would receive some sign to leave his remains there. But time and again, I felt a clear message: “No, this isn’t my resting place. I’ve known enough of death. You will, in time, know my journey, but it isn’t here.” The journey was mine to take, not his.
That year, I was firmly guided to stay, to heal, and to find a new purpose. I was reminded that eventually, I would not only recover but also be able to guide others through similar paths of healing and self-rediscovery. Having been a mental health counselor for over 40 years, I had always worked with people, but this experience deepened my understanding. To support others, I went back to school and earned additional certifications, including as an Emotion Code Practitioner, a Biofield Tuning Practitioner, and Integrative Life Coaching. In 2020, I developed the “40-Day Journey Back to Me” program, launched during the lockdowns as a way to help people reconnect with themselves. I had decided that if I could make this journey, others could too—and I wanted to help them do it.
This program was built around the idea of “coming back to self”—a process I had walked through myself, especially after experiencing such a profound loss. It’s a 40-day journey, divided into four 10-day phases. Each phase centers on a core aspect of healing: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.
The first 10 days focus on the physical body. In my journey, climbing mountains and exploring caves required resilience, strength, and careful attention to hydration, nutrition, flexibility, and stamina. I found that a solid physical foundation is essential for such a journey, so in the program, we dedicate this time to physical health.
The second 10 days are dedicated to the emotional body, where most of my own healing unfolded. Grief brings forth emotional wounds, and addressing those means delving into the deep pain, suffering, and growth that comes with it. This part of the journey was where I began shifting my focus as a coach and counselor from purely mental health to emotional well-being.
In the third 10-day segment, we address the mental aspect. This focus is vital because our thoughts shape our emotions, which in turn influence our overall health. By dedicating time to mental health, we address patterns of thought that may hinder or support our growth.
The final 10 days are about reconnecting with the spirit soul, embracing our essence beyond the physical form. It’s an opportunity to reawaken to who we truly are—deep in our souls—and find renewed purpose. For me, reconnecting with my own spirit soul and purpose at the end of this journey was life-changing.
I never would have embarked on this journey if I hadn’t lost my son. In returning to myself, I discovered that there is a purpose for me beyond him—a purpose centered on helping others find their own way back to emotional health and inner peace. And so, I continue this work, now knowing that through my journey, I can be of service to others in the most meaningful way possible.

In your experience as a Freedom Coach, Counselor and Oracle, what are some of the most common challenges people face when trying to reconnect with their True Self, and how does your program help overcome them?

The most profound challenge many people face is not knowing who they truly are. Instead, they know who they’ve been told to be, shaped by labels that society and influential figures have placed upon them since birth. From parents, siblings, teachers, preachers, and neighbors, each person brings their own expectations and assigns labels—daughter, sister, student, friend. Over time, we internalize these roles, and instead of understanding who we are, we adopt the definitions given to us. And so, we end up defining ourselves by what we do: “I’m a doctor,” “I’m a housewife,” “I’m a student.” But these are roles, not reflections of who we are.
The journey to uncovering our true selves is, therefore, about peeling back these layers and questioning who we are beyond what we do. People know, on some level, that they’re uncomfortable in their own “skin suit,” but they often don’t understand why. Uncovering who we truly are—who we came here to be—isn’t about learning something new; it’s about remembering. That’s why the journey back to self requires deep introspection and persistent questioning, beginning with, “Who are you?” Most respond by telling you what they do, not who they are.
In my “Journey Back to Me” program, I encourage participants go through the 40-day process three times. Each round builds upon the previous, each helping to reach a new layer of understanding and authenticity. The first journey is about remembering: What did I come here to feel, to think, to do, and, most importantly, to be? This initial round initiates that remembrance, guiding individuals back to their essence, their soul. The second round answers the deeper question of “Why?” Why did I come to be this person, to walk this path, to do these things? By the third round, we reach the “How”—the point of action. Now that I remember who I am and why I am here, how will I embody this truth in service to myself and humanity?
This journey is a homecoming, a return to our true essence, which feels like coming home—because the only true home is within, seated in the spirit soul, in the center of our being. People often debate the nature of the soul versus the spirit, but I’ve come to see that they are intertwined, co-existing within this human body. Our physical form is crucial, yes, but our energetic body holds an extraordinary wealth of strength, wisdom, and knowledge that guides us back to our core. The journey inward, to this center, is the most valuable journey we can undertake, leading us to an existence that feels whole, aligned, and true.

The program emphasizes working with four aspects of self: the physical, the emotional, the mental and the spirit soul bodies. Can you explain the importance of integrating these four aspects in achieving balance and vitality?

In my program, each of us is seen as a layered being, composed of four essential aspects: the physical, emotional, mental, and spirit soul layers. Often, people approach health and well-being in a fragmented way, focusing on one layer at a time—maybe getting physically fit, or focusing solely on mental health. But by doing this, we miss the full picture. Health and fulfillment come from nurturing and integrating all layers, not one in isolation.
My program devotes 10 days to each layer, allowing participants to truly explore and attend to each aspect of themselves. We begin with the physical body, understanding its needs, strengths, and limitations. Then, we move into the energy field beyond the physical starting with the emotional layer, which sits closest to the physical body. Here, we focus on understanding and healing our emotional landscape. Next, we address the mental layer, which influences our thought patterns and beliefs. Finally, we reach the spirit soul, the core of our being, where our deepest sense of purpose and connection resides.
After dedicating time to each layer, integration becomes key. This final phase is about reconnecting all four aspects into a harmonious whole. Think of it as piecing together a jigsaw puzzle: each layer is a corner piece, and at the center lies the spirit soul, where all layers converge energetically. When we heal and nurture all aspects together, we restore balance and wholeness to our being. Only then can we feel truly healthy, vibrant, and complete, grounded in the essence of who we are at the spirit soul level.

You offer both a live retreat in Mexico and an online version of the program. What unique experiences or benefits do participants gain from the in-person retreat that complement the overall journey?

This year marks a new chapter for me as I open my retreat center in Mexico, a dream come true that offers guests a sanctuary for profound self-discovery and healing. I call this experience “The Journey Back to Me Healing Emotional Wounds Retreat,” which I offer as either a standalone five-day retreat or as the first five days of my 40-day program. Coming to my center in Mexico allows for intensive, one-on-one work in a beautiful natural setting, where every aspect of the experience is crafted to support emotional healing.
The retreat center itself is designed to harness the elements for transformative rituals. We use the fire pit for ceremonies like the forgiveness ritual, bringing in fire’s cleansing energy. Meditations with the trees and ceremonies held on the sky deck, under the stars and sun, invite connection with the elements of air and light. And perhaps most powerfully, I’ve created a labyrinth for the final day of each journey. Each guest walks the labyrinth while focusing on a core wound, transforming that deep-rooted feeling into something they wish to feel instead—a process that is uniquely impactful on the property.
Guests also receive personalized guidance for physical wellness, including live nutrition coaching, with a focus on clean, colorful, nourishing food and simple ways to grow and prepare it. Clients experience live sessions of Biofield Tuning, and we go to the nearby beach for a powerful Emotion Code session that targets energetic emotional healing, making this retreat an immersive experience on every level.
After returning home, guests continue with 35 more days of their journey online, allowing them to integrate everything they experience with my Coaching and Counseling support. I believe integration is essential, as many people undergo powerful healing yet lack the support to bring those changes into their daily lives. My program ensures that each person has continued guidance, so the transformations experienced during the retreat are supported, deepened, and sustained long after they leave.

Your book, “Listen to the Silence,” centers on the silent communication between you and your son, Spencer. How did this non-verbal bond shape your understanding of communication, both during his life and after his transformation into Light?

For 23 years, my son Spencer, who was unable to speak or move independently, was my greatest teacher. He showed me, in ways words could never capture, how much we communicate without speaking. Through his complete silence, he taught me that words often mask the true energy of communication; his presence demonstrated the richness of what remains unsaid. Spencer and I learned to communicate telepathically, particularly in his last seven years when he was on a ventilator, unable even to make a sound. Our connection became rooted in energy and eye movements, and it profoundly transformed my understanding of human interaction.
Our journey together taught me the power of patience and the art of listening in a world where we rarely pause to receive answers. In the silence, I had to ask questions that Spencer could answer with a simple eye movement—a form of communication that requires trust and true presence. This practice changed how I listen to others. Often, we ask questions without waiting for the response, rushing to speak rather than deeply receiving. Spencer taught me to slow down, to listen with my whole being, and to honor even the smallest responses as profound acts of communication.
Animals and Angels communicate similarly; we learn a lot from observing their non-verbal signals, just as I did with Spencer. Miscommunication often arises from our failure to truly observe and honor the subtle cues people give us. After Spencer’s passing, he began sending me what I call “Spencpirations”—messages filled with gentle wisdom. One of his most recent messages is a reminder that “everyone needs to be listened to and deserves to be heard.” It’s a simple truth, yet one we often overlook in our haste to be understood.
Spencer’s life was an incredible example of “being” over “doing.” Born into a body that couldn’t perform typical actions, he showed me that his purpose was not in doing but in embodying pure presence. He picked his journey and his people carefully, demonstrating that even without physical action, his soul’s essence shone through, touching all who encountered him. His legacy is a powerful reminder of the beauty in simply “being.”

The concept of “Listening to the Silence” is central to your spiritual journey. How can others who are grieving or feeling disconnected learn to tune into the silence to find guidance, healing, and connection to their loved ones or their true selves?

In today’s world, we’re surrounded by constant noise—information and voices that pull us in every direction. It’s chaotic, and it can make us lose touch with our own inner knowing. But true peace and clarity come from learning to quiet our minds and listen beyond the ordinary. This deeper listening was something Spencer showed me, and it’s a skill I now teach to those wanting to connect with their loved ones, spirit guides and guardians, or even just their inner self.
Spencer referred to our ability to perceive beyond the physical as our “extraordinary senses.” We all have five basic senses, but each of these has a higher version—an extraordinary sense of sight, hearing, feeling, and so on. When we tap into this extraordinary sense of hearing, for instance, we go beyond the noise of the physical world and access the whispers of our soul, spirit guides and guardians, and the wisdom that connects us to a greater source.
This journey requires quieting the mind, especially what I call the “monkey mind”—the mental chatter that distracts us. In my program Journey Back To Me, we spend dedicated time in silence and practice tuning into this deeper level of hearing. Learning to listen isn’t just about finding silence in the world around us, but also within ourselves. And it’s about allowing ourselves time to receive, not just to ask. Often, we pray or seek guidance, but rarely do we wait long enough to receive an answer. Real listening involves patience; sometimes it means waiting longer than a moment, creating space for the response to emerge.
The silence needed to connect with spirit guides, our loved ones, or simply our own wisdom, isn’t found in the rush of daily life. It’s found in stillness, in nature, in the spaces where the world is hushed and our inner voice can be heard. This work is part of what I guide others through, and it has the potential to reconnect us to our truest selves. For those open to learning, it can change how they experience not just themselves, but their connection to everyone and everything around them.
