Heidi Jaffe is an internationally known Certified Psychic Medium, famous for her incredible accuracy and attention to detail. In this interview, we discussed the challenges of different psychic sessions and the importance of building trust with your clients.
What inspired you to start your psychic reading business?
It’s not so much that I wanted to start a business actually. I started receiving messages from very specific people, pretty much out of the middle of nowhere. Once that started happening, I realized that this is what I was supposed to do. I decided to get any training I could find and I tried to get certified wherever I could.
If I was going to do this, I was going to be the best I could be at it and help people. Before that I wasn’t doing anything related to psychic mediumship at all – I was doing a completely different job at the time. It started on its own and now I have clients all over the world.
What is the most popular type of reading that customers are looking for, and what are the most common concerns that interest them?
Most of the time it is mediumship – contact with loved ones on the other side. People want to know if their loved ones are ok. They want to know why something has happened, or to resolve something in particular. In general, they want to make sure they are safe.
People also want guidance in their life and want to make sure they are on the right path with a psychic reading. I can help them know when to keep moving forward or to take a hard turn in another direction and what is around the corner.
Are some type of psychic readings more demanding or difficult than others?
Absolutely! I tend to get a lot of readings connected to suicides, murders, and to people who have lost children, and those are very demanding. I want to get as much accurate and detailed information as I can in those.
Of course, all readings I want to be accurate and detailed. But, when it is something that heavy, I put more pressure on myself to make sure I get even more details than the average reading.
There is a lot of healing that is needed in these types of readings. Across the board, I just want to be as helpful as I can to every person that I have the opportunity to do a reading for.
Some of the psychic sessions are still performed in person. What about you? How has your work been affected by the pandemic?
My work has not been affected at all. I still do readings in person. During the pandemic, all of my sessions just moved to the phone or Skype for a few months. It really has made no difference for me.
I’m always pretty busy, and if anything, I am busier than I’ve ever been, so I had to turn many people down, which I do not like doing. I can only do so many readings a day.
What advice would you give to a fledgling psychic reader?
Your job as a psychic medium is to be helpful, not harmful. You have to be honest with people, but at the same time, you have to be responsible for the information you share.
People hold on to what you say for a long time – what you think is not a big deal could be huge for somebody else. Also, you need to be trained and know what you are doing. If you aren’t you could cause more harm than good.
What is the most important detail of maintaining a relationship of mutual trust with your customers?
It is very important, to be honest, caring, sensitive, and of course accurate. I do not allow anyone to give any information about them. They can even use a fake name. I don’t ask them for information and that builds trust.
I feel very fortunate to have kept the same clients for years. I see all of their family members and their friends because they trust me, knowing that I am always going to do my best for them.
Always welcome your clients with open arms, and you need to truly care about them. When you tell people what they need to hear in a compassionate manner, not what they want to hear, it builds trust even more.
What do you hope people take away from your sessions?
I hope that they feel peace and resolve. I can’t bring anybody back, but I hope that everything I share brings them validation and confirmation that their loved ones are ok.
Even if it helps them feel close to their loved ones for just one day, I feel like I’ve done my job. And if it is guidance in their life I have provided, I hope that it helps them feel clear on where they are headed.
