Julie Goodridge's Journey of Healing and Transformation

Julie Goodridge's Journey of Healing and Transformation

Julie Goodridge’s deep connection to spiritual healing and energy work led her to become a Reiki Master, teaching from her Hertfordshire home. In 2002, she embarked on a transformative journey across the U.S., immersing herself in six weeks of Vortex healing workshops, a truly magical and spiritually enriching experience.

Upon her return, Julie embraced the power of the Heart Field, now backed by science. In 2011, a near-fatal head injury changed her perspective, spurring a three-year recovery marked by profound personal growth. Through daily Gratitude practice, she found acceptance and surrender, catalyzing immense expansion.

Today, Julie, a trustee for Hereford Centre for Natural Health, offers one-on-one healing work and workshops, sharing her unique energy to connect people with their hearts and the Universe’s abundant support. Beyond healing, she indulges in her love for nature, films, walking, reading, dancing, and various creative pursuits. With an unwavering belief in boundless human potential, Julie sees infinite possibilities for each individual.

What drew you to a career in spiritual healing and energy work?

I had a curiosity about the unseen and found new-age spirituality exciting but I also was nervous at the prospect of actually discovering something else existed, outside of the 3D physical realm that was my only reality at that time. Coupled with a deep desire for change this led me to my first Reiki attunement. I lived with low self-esteem and self-worth and this felt like the right next step. Immediately upon attunement, I felt different in a positive sense and a process of self-empowerment was underway and unfolding. Reiki II and III followed pretty quickly and I was

holding my own Reiki courses within a year or so. I was so taken with the impact energy was having on me that I wanted to share it with others.

It was also clear I had an affinity for it and was keen to learn more. Many years later it became clear that I could facilitate a group energetic working field and started running workshops, followed by all-inclusive retreats, utilizing all of the healing modalities I studied. I am most ‘in

flow’ when working energetically and if I had to choose a favorite it would be running retreats.

Can you describe your approach to energy healing and the modalities you are trained in?

I am trained in Reiki to level III and have attended seven vortex healing workshops of varying lengths, one in the UK and the rest in the United States in 2002 when I spent six months traveling around the country. My external wandering and explorations mirrored what was going on spiritually. On returning to the UK I discovered Heart Healing and worked with Jill and Jo O’Carroll for 13 years. Jill could see the physical heart has an immense energetic field associated with it, long before science. I was becoming more and more and more comfortable in

my skin, and experiencing an inner Freedom I could never have imagined. I have had life experiences that I would argue have brought as much growth and impact as healing workshops, energetically. I came close to dying in 2011 after a serious head injury that took 3 years to recover from. Accepting and surrendering, when that ill creates an even deeper connection with what Is, at least it did for me. Over the last 3 years, I have been consciously connecting with Gaia, our wonderful planet. I regularly walk barefoot and it is possible to foster an even deeper connection with Nature and even have healing experiences. It is continually giving us signs. Whether we notice them or not is another thing. When I sit down with a client I approach each healing as a blank slate, whether it’s the first or 10th one. I trust the space and utilize any energetic tools I have intuitively knowing which ones to use. Trusting is key and not being afraid to go where the healing wants to go, to give the most positive releases. The only thing I know is that I don’t know.

How do you establish a connection with clients or patients seeking spiritual healing?

I am a people person so find it easy to talk to people. I have lived the experience of my growth from not feeling whole and enough to feeling enough and comfortable in my skin, aware that there is always more, wherever we are in life. I have cried many tears and know the depths of pain and desperation it is possible to get to, AND most importantly get through.

Our deepest pain crystallizes into wisdom that cannot ever be taken away.

Awakening to the Truth of Ourselves and that inner beauty and Inner Knowing is one of the most beautiful of Life’s processes. If we desire change and give the Universe an opening it will fill it. This is why never giving up Hope is so important. I relate to people and I don’t think they find it hard to relate to me. I used to manage a mental health care home and have an extraordinary daughter who lives with anorexia. We know what it is possible to get through and the mantra is ‘Change is Inevitable’.

Could you share an example of a challenging case you’ve worked on and how you helped the client through it?

I find this question tricky because each person comes with their own set of circumstances, their history, often traumatic. I work in the same way, trusting that the Universe and energies will bring my clients exactly what they need in terms of releases, attachments, and awareness. Clients who choose to work with me past the initial few sessions often wake up spiritually and become what I call Spiritually Content. Just because we make, for example, abuse of any sort a terrible thing which of course it is, does not mean, it needs to continue to affect us moving forward. Energetically that trauma can be released, and addressed, often with an inner child needing simply to be hugged lovingly, and made to feel safe so that the effect of that can traverse the timeline to now. Breaking a timeline to release the trauma is possible, and of course, the concept of time is a manifestation albeit a necessary one to live in our times. In a healing space, it is of no consequence and I have worked with trauma of many descriptions in this way.

I enter each session in the same way, be it in person or by distance, with a conversation at the beginning and again afterward. The energy of an unborn child often arises in a healing, whether a miscarriage has occurred, or an abortion in the past. I recall many years ago working with the mother of a child who had died due to cot death. Pure potential and Love, these souls just want to let the person I am working with, know that it’s okay, they are okay. In total Freedom. For those who have experienced the trauma of loss, the guilt is often heavy and, the potential Life and spirit are fine, in total Freedom, and they want their mothers to know that. I have worked with one man whose unborn aborted baby boy was with him too. Often my clients will perform a simple ceremony of acknowledgment by lighting a candle in remembrance or planting a tree, writing a letter, or something else they feel appropriate, and this helps a

healing process of release and letting go. Crucially this means moving through Grief to feeling a Love that can never be lost. It’s a very beautiful process, that I feel privileged to be a part of.

What ethical considerations do you think are important when working with clients in a vulnerable state?

It is important to me that during a conversation with a prospective client, I reach a point of feeling content to work with a person. Often someone will say, “I don’t know why but I saw your advert and knew that I needed to contact You”. Music to my ears as it’s obvious they are listening to their gut and Heart. I still need to reach an intuitive point of knowing it’s fine to work

with them, and if there are ANY mental health issues have an even longer conversation. Powerful energy work can create shifts that result in, literally a different experience of Being. Going back to attachments, to people, situations, and possibly previous ways of Being, IF it’s appropriate for one or more of those to be released, the resultant increased inner space can feel

strange for a while. I always follow up with clients just to check in.

Complete integration can take up to a couple of weeks and grounding is key. I ground within the session but advocate regular grounding, as it’s just healthy anyway. The more IN our bodies we are energetically the more likely we are to process what we need to in a deeper way, leading to a richer, more expansive experience of Life. Barefoot walking is a wonderful grounding experience and I highly recommend it, I mean getting feet naked on the planet, not wearing barefoot shoes, although they are great for you. Consciously connecting with Gaia is a great practice to get into even for a few minutes a day.

How do you stay current with developments in the field of spiritual healing and energy work, and how do you continue to enhance your skills and knowledge?

I pursue a Life of constant personal development although not forced. There is always more! I am constantly aware of that and feel that. I am about experiencing energy and yes I do follow developments within the field, and love that healing in some areas is being studied, and even distance healing. My mind would like nothing better than for me to study academically again and gather more certificates. More certainty! Life is a constant source of teaching and I work with other powerful healers, regularly, and also do a healing on myself every week. I also continue to attend Vortex Healing workshops and take part in a weekly Yantra, working with up to 250 other healers globally, currently working on the conflict within human consciousness. This is coordinated by a teacher of Vortex Healing. I walk barefoot daily and am more in tune with Nature than I have ever been. Animals are a massive part of my life and the connection with them continues to get richer. I learn from my clients as it’s an exchange experience. The intrinsic fine detail of the workings of the Universe staggers me, or at least my sense of it does. It’s in a CONSTANT state of flux with every thought, and every action impacting the whole. I like to think I am learning all the time. I go where my intuition takes me and trust that implicitly, and I have learned to trust that implicitly.
