What inspired you to become an expert in EFT Tapping, Emotion Code and Yoga?

I grew up amidst a lot of turbulence at home and experienced various traumas due to my blended family background. This made me feel profoundly disconnected in many ways. It took me many years to recognize that I was grappling with a significant amount of depression.

I was born in Canada and when I was 3 months old, my father left and moved back to London UK and remained there the rest of my life. I did see him but just in the summertime – feel free to leave this part out if you want. When I was 6 months old my mother sent me to be with her mother, my grandmother, for 6 months in the UK. So as a newborn I experienced separation from both of my primary caregivers for 6 months onward.

My journey into yoga was somewhat unexpected. My primary interest at the time was travel, and I was quite passionate about it. However, over the course of the 24 years during which I’ve been teaching yoga, I found myself drawn into the world of yoga. I initially traveled to India, the birthplace of yoga, with the intention of exploring new places rather than to specifically study yoga. Nevertheless, my interest in yoga deepened during my time there.

Interestingly, I had not initially considered becoming a yoga teacher. My focus was not on teaching; it was more about my personal growth and understanding of yoga. A turning point came when I made the decision to travel to India. I made all the necessary arrangements, including renting out my living space, and I was set to depart in two weeks.

Unexpectedly, an intuition struck me. I received a pamphlet from a yoga studio one day, outlining a teacher training program. Suddenly, I felt a strong sense of knowing that teaching yoga was meant to be a part of my journey. This marked the beginning of my path as a yoga teacher. The practice of yoga itself had paved the way for this realization.

About a decade later, I began delving into bioenergy. I embarked on a journey to understand energy within the body, how it can be held within, and how past experiences can anchor energy in our bodies. This subject captivated me greatly. Although I no longer actively practice bioenergy, occasional requests for it come my way. Generally, it hasn’t gained widespread popularity. In contrast, the Emotion Code has gained substantial traction.

Around nine years ago, my interest shifted towards the Emotion Code. I had always sensed the presence of trapped emotions within the body. One day, while listening to a podcast at the gym—my usual go-to for subjects like trauma wellness and holistic healing—I came across an interview featuring Doctor Bradley Nelson. He happened to be the author of a book that you may or may not be familiar with; he’s the innovator behind the Emotion Code. At that time, I had no knowledge of the book or the Emotion Code, but his discussion about trapped emotions struck a chord. The term resonated deeply, and he proposed the notion that we all harbor trapped emotions which can be liberated. This revelation set my passion ablaze, compelling me to learn more.

I subsequently underwent training with Dr. Nelson to fully comprehend and practice the Emotion Code. Additionally, I’ve intermittently explored EFT tapping for several years. The efficacy of EFT tapping is supported by an impressive body of scientific research—over 307 studies affirm its effectiveness across various emotional states. While distinct in nature, these modalities both captivate me.

I’m also well-versed in Yin Yoga, particularly a variation rooted in Chinese medicine. My extensive studies in Chinese medicine naturally led me to integrate EFT tapping into my offerings. I recently obtained my certification for EFT tapping, even though I’ve personally practiced it for an extended period. As I gradually share this practice with clients, it’s evident that the techniques indeed yield positive results.

How do you combine the practices of EFT Tapping, Emotion Code, and Yoga in your sessions to create a holistic approach for your clients?

To be completely honest, yoga holds the longest tenure in my personal practices. I’ve consciously kept these three domains—yoga, EFT Tapping, and the Emotion Code—distinct from one another. Nevertheless, when a client arrives, and it’s apparent that intense emotions are prevalent, such as profound anger or overwhelming sadness, I might occasionally integrate a touch of tapping. In certain instances, I might even propose shifting the focus of the session entirely to tapping. This is because tapping offers a mechanism to promptly release the energetic charge of emotions. Emotions, being vibrational energies we harbor within, can be swiftly dissipated through tapping.

Due to my extensive immersion in the world of yoga and meditation over the years, my toolkit is rich and varied. My role as a yoga teacher encompasses more than just instructing postures; it involves a deep understanding of each individual’s aspirations, exploration, and learning preferences. Consequently, I’ve amassed a wealth of skills and knowledge that I readily incorporate into sessions.

For instance, earlier today, I guided a client through a session that encapsulated these principles. Despite having a mere 30-minute window, I skillfully intertwined the Emotion Code techniques he sought with insights rooted in my yoga studies. Recognizing that he wasn’t accustomed to meditation, I offered him a simple piece of wisdom: intercept a troublesome thought and counter it by taking three deep, calming breaths. These little pearls of wisdom, born from my extensive background, serve to enhance my clients’ overall experiences, fostering better outcomes.

What type of services do you offer?

I specialize in offering the Emotion Code, a method focused on liberating trapped emotions from the body. This approach encompasses a wide array of potential issues, including diverse types of heart walls, such as those stemming from past lives or ancestral connections. Presently, there’s a notable surge of interest in ancestral and past life heart walls, driven by the resurgence of deeply rooted emotions from the past. These dedicated sessions solely address matters of the heart, be it heart walls or other related aspects. Moreover, our sessions can extend to include different forms of emotional barriers, like food walls, ego walls, and money-related walls.

In essence, the techniques employed are precisely tailored to each client’s unique requirements. If an individual is grappling with a specific ailment like liver dysfunction or other organ-related concerns, I am adept at releasing trapped emotions associated with that particular organ. My approach is informed by my comprehensive understanding of Chinese medicine. For instance, if someone is experiencing digestive problems, I delve into my knowledge of Chinese medicine to target relevant channels such as the stomach and spleen, as well as the organs themselves. This comprehensive approach also involves investigating whether trapped emotions from earlier life experiences, perhaps rooted in childhood or other periods, contribute to their current digestive issues.

The Emotion Code empowers us to delve into a vast spectrum of inquiries. By engaging the subconscious mind, we can pose questions that elicit definitive yes or no responses. The subconscious mind retains a record of every life experience, enabling me to access this wellspring of knowledge. A typical interaction might involve asking the subconscious if trapped emotions are influencing a thyroid issue, and upon receiving an affirmative response, proceeding to identify and address the specific trapped emotions involved.

The versatility of the Emotion Code is truly remarkable, granting us the ability to explore and address a wide range of issues by skillfully accessing the subconscious mind and unraveling the intricate web of trapped emotions.

I also practice EFT tapping, which allows me to work effectively with individuals experiencing bodily pain or any other concerns they might have. I find it important to empower people to choose the modality that truly resonates with them. After presenting them with an explanation of each approach, I leave the decision to them. Some clients opt for packages that encompass both modalities, allowing them to explore and evaluate the benefits of each.

Alongside these practices, I organize and lead yoga retreats in partnership with a colleague. This endeavor has been a significant part of my journey for several years. Additionally, I have a regular teaching schedule here in Vancouver at YYoga. Teaching yoga is a core passion of mine, and I dedicate myself to guiding students through seven classes each week.

Certainly, I prioritize a customized approach for each client. To facilitate this, I utilize an intake form that provides valuable insights into their history. Often, people underestimate the extent to which past experiences influence their current state. For instance, when delving into potential trapped emotions related to anxiety, it becomes apparent that the anxiety isn’t merely about their present circumstances, such as job loss or divorce. Instead, it’s often triggered by past events, rooted in a distant past. Understanding this history significantly shapes the direction of our sessions.

While some clients approach me with a clear focus, others express a general sense of emotional weight and acknowledge their emotional baggage. In such cases, I engage a method wherein I tune into their subconscious mind through muscle testing. I employ a chart encompassing 60 distinct emotions, which has proven effective over time. Additionally, I’ve developed supplementary charts that supplement this process. Collaborative exchange among Emotion Code practitioners often involves sharing these innovative tools. Subsequently, during a session, I initiate a dialogue with the client’s subconscious, probing for trapped emotions that are ready for release. We systematically address these emotions one by one, potentially addressing up to 30 trapped emotions in a single session. The precise number depends on the issues brought forth by the client.

For those uncertain about their specific concerns, I guide the session through questions that shed light on their emotions and experiences. As we commence, I delve deeper based on their responses, creating a framework that informs the trajectory of the session. This interactive exploration is invaluable in determining the most appropriate path forward, particularly when encountering potential resistance.

In essence, my goal is to create a tailored experience for each client, seamlessly blending their unique history and needs with the techniques of the Emotion Code. This collaborative and personalized approach empowers individuals to effectively release trapped emotions and embark on a journey of emotional well-being.

So, let me explain how we achieve this through a method called muscle testing. Your subconscious mind holds a comprehensive record of all your life experiences. When working with clients around the world, including those on platforms like WhatsApp, the process remains seamless. If a client is in London and I’m in Vancouver, all I require is their permission. We either connect through a WhatsApp call or I work with them remotely, addressing the issue they wish to resolve. After obtaining their consent, I schedule a session based on their convenience.

When it comes to tuning into their energy, I employ muscle testing. Standing on my end, I initiate the muscle testing procedure. Various methods exist for muscle testing, and I’ve honed my own approach. As I energetically connect, I begin by asking questions. For instance, I inquire, “Sarah Parker, do I have your permission to establish a connection?” My muscle test registers a positive response, confirming this permission. I then proceed to ask if I can act as a proxy on their behalf, and I continue until I receive an affirmative response. This establishes our connection and readiness for testing. Prior to proceeding, I ensure I am adequately hydrated.

Interestingly, when I establish this connection, it’s akin to momentarily stepping aside, allowing me to engage with their subconscious mind directly. It’s an intriguing and dynamic process that Doctor Brad elaborates on in his book. The energy alignment facilitates communication with their subconscious mind, creating a conduit for profound insights and effective emotional release.

Many individuals, particularly male clients although some female clients as well, seek my services despite initially finding the concept somewhat peculiar. They often decide to give it a try upon hearing positive feedback from friends who have experienced positive results. A fascinating aspect that deserves attention is that clients frequently approach with concerns like anxiety, panic, or strained relationships, seeking improvement. As I initiate the session and inquire about potential trapped emotions, an intriguing pattern often emerges. For instance, around 10 trapped emotions might surface, all originating from a specific age, such as nine years old. This frequently elicits a recognition from the client, acknowledging that the circumstances at that time indeed resonated with the emotions being uncovered. This age-based revelation often triggers memories of household turbulence, parental dynamics, and personal experiences. The ages associated with these trapped emotions weave a narrative that sheds light on the emotional landscape.

Occasionally, an age like 25 might arise, perplexing the client as they grapple to decipher its significance. Within a relatively short span of time, a year, a person can accumulate trapped emotions, rendering the age-associated emotions substantial. Our mental processes are capable of encapsulating these emotions swiftly, especially following moments of tension or conflict, such as heated arguments or work-related challenges. Subsequently, these emotional energies settle within the body, creating a palpable presence.

In essence, the process of connecting with these trapped emotions involves unveiling their origins, tracing their narratives through the ages, and comprehending how they have manifested within the individual’s life. This intricate and deeply revealing journey illuminates the interplay between past experiences, emotional resonance, and present well-being.

Many people seek healing and self-discovery through these modalities. As a teacher and practitioner, what message would you like to share with those considering incorporating EFT Tapping, Emotion Code, and Yoga into their lives?

One of the key messages I frequently emphasize is the cumulative impact of these practices, particularly the ones I specialize in. I often advise individuals not to lose hope but instead to grant it some time and opportunity to unfold. In my extensive years of practicing these methods, especially with the emotion code which holds the longest tenure, I can recall only two instances where clients didn’t return for further sessions. This rarity underscores the effectiveness and transformative potential of these approaches.

My encouragement to anyone embarking on this journey is to persevere, commit, and embrace the process. The emotions and traumas that become lodged in the body possess an energetic nature. This energy takes residence within, exerting influence across various facets of your life – your interactions, responses, and overall experiences. Even emotions like sorrow or depression can be effectively addressed through the release of trapped emotions. However, the process goes beyond just alleviating these surface-level emotions. It delves into exploring the root experiences or traumas that have contributed to their emergence.

It’s important to acknowledge that this journey takes time. Releasing trapped emotions isn’t an instantaneous endeavor, although significant progress can often be achieved within just one session. This is not to imply that the process unfolds in a literal minute, but rather that the journey starts with a single session, often resulting in substantial emotional clearance. With commitment and patience, individuals can experience remarkable shifts and a heightened sense of emotional well-being.

This is merely the tip of the iceberg, representing only a fraction of what lies beneath the surface. Often, individuals who are committed to exploring this journey opt for packages that provide a more comprehensive experience, such as a set of five sessions or a package of three. It’s important to note that each emotion code session spans 30 minutes. My advice is to approach this process with an open mind, exercising patience and allowing ample time for progress to unfold.
