Alexis Nelson from Latitude Wellness is an Intuitive Coach and Reiki Practitioner.  Her goal is to help you master your mindset, time and energy by creating new and empowering thoughts so you can show up in your life with confidence, purpose, and courage. In this interview Alexis shares insights into her professional journey, how energy healing can be beneficial and tips on finding balance and maintaining a positive energy.

Could you tell us a bit about your journey into energy healing and what inspired you to pursue this professionally?

After quitting my job working as an executive for a nonprofit, I spiraled into a deep depression discovering new depths of darkness in myself. I was post-partum and undergoing an identity crisis, meanwhile buffering with copious amounts of exercise and alcohol. I kept seeking answers outside of myself and experiencing more mental and energetic blocks. That is when I decided to take a break from alcohol and began my journey work with a Shaman & learning how to heal myself through reiki. The first attunement was eye opening and life changing. I practiced daily and started to see the changes in my physical and emotional wellbeing that blew my mind. I always knew I could see, feel, and sense energy but I never trusted it, ignoring, and brushing it off. Following my second reiki attunement, I was practicing reiki on my family, friends, friends of friends and word began to travel! Being an ambitious seeker of knowledge and thirsty for greater spiritual connection, I signed up for a meditation class and ended up committing to a yearlong clairvoyant program where we explored the communication between our physical and spiritual body. I have been practicing reiki and energy healing for almost three years and plan on becoming a reiki master this year.

What healing modalities do you offer, and do you have a personal preference?

I offer energy healings where I incorporate a variety of healing modalities including reiki, meditation, crystals, essential oils, aura reading and cleansing during the session. All of this takes place in my grounded office space in Reno, NV where my clients lay on a far infrared amethyst crystal mat. Following the healing, I share intuitive and psychic insights and information that occurred during the session. In addition, I also offer standalone aura and psychic readings where I read the energy in the aura and the chakras. I love giving energy healings – the combination of the modalities mentioned above provide my clients with peace, calm, clarity and the ability to just be. The readings can be done in person or over the phone, energy sessions are done in person.

What are some of the more common aspects people approach you with and how can energy healing be beneficial?

My clients range from wanting to zone out, unwind, relax, and take a break from the chaos to understanding and receiving information on what is happening in their chakras so they can apply and align in their physical realm and daily life. I work with cancer patients wanting to heal their body, high achieving professionals that need a safe space to release negative energy and recover, people experiencing physical pain and want relief, to the simple desire of having more peace, calm, clarity, and balance in their energy and their day. Some of my clients are healers looking for a sanctuary to recover and rejuvenate, and others are on their awakening journey seeking to strengthen their mind, body, and spiritual connection.

Being an Energy Healer and having to consistently heal and help others, are there any non-negotiable practices you use personally to maintain your self-care?

My non-negotiables include daily meditation, running my energy & grounding, self-reiki, strength training and yoga, and getting out in nature as much as possible. I work with a Shaman and receive guidance and healings, massages, and acupuncture. I am an Introvert (INFJ) and a Manifestor which means I can accomplish a lot but require significant amounts of alone downtime.

Lastly, any tips to share with our readers on finding balance and maintaining a positive energy?

I believe balance happens when you can be with what is. Accepting whatever emotion that is moving through your body will bring you out of resistance and into the present. From this place you can create a life of magic, fulfillment, and adventure.
