What can you tell me about your professional beginnings and how your life changed after discovering your psychic abilities?
My professional life always focused on communications including media, stakeholder engagement, and online strategy for government departments, not-for-profit organisations, tertiary institutions, and private enterprise. This work felt challenging and rewarding until I turned 39 and surprised myself by taking voluntary redundancy. That is when everything changed. Suddenly there was a lot more space in my life and the Universe took advantage by turning on all the “psychic lights” at once.
My psychic awakening was bizarre, terrifying, and liberating. I had experienced some random psychic insights previously, but now my channel was wide open to everything. I discovered I could do all kinds of things including connect to energy, trance channel, card reading, energy healing, and psychometry. My 39th year was transformative and sometimes chaotic.
Unfortunately, no one had ever talked to me about how to be grounded or manage these gifts, and that left me very vulnerable. That’s one of the reasons I focus on grounding practices and energetic management for all intuitive mentoring clients when we start working together. This is incredibly important when you’re a sensitive person. We should be teaching these skills in schools because it helps us manage our sensitivity, tune into our intuitive voice, and reduces our anxiety.
These days I do a mix of communications work, intuitive mentoring, writing, and advocacy. I always feel like I have one foot in both worlds – the mainstream and the metaphysical. You could say my psychic awakening turned my world upside down, challenged my beliefs, and opened up a world of possibility and insight to me.
Can you walk me through one of your Channelled Directions sessions?
During my Channelled Directions sessions, I use my psychic abilities to tune into your energy and then we begin to unravel all the “shoulds” from your life so you can tune into your truth. You can waste a lot of time if you’re making decisions to meet everyone else’s expectations, instead of listening to your own wisdom. My goal is to help you break through the barriers that have been holding you back.
Each session is conducted via Zoom and tailored to meet your particular needs. For example, one client might need help to tune into their intuition so they can make a clear decision, while another might need energy blocks removed or a past life hangover resolved. In essence, I’ll help you get to the truth of things so you can make the best decisions for yourself. It is a highly interactive process where you tell me what you are struggling with and we work together to help you gain clarity about your next steps. You will gain new realisations about yourself and feel better equipped to face any challenges you are experiencing. My goal is for you to walk away feeling empowered and more grounded in yourself and your truth. Ultimately, this is not about me – it is all about you and what you need.
What inspired you to become an author and where do you draw your inspiration for your books?
I was such a bookworm as a child – you could always find me with my head in a book. I loved reading! Like a lot of teenagers, I also filled journals with angst-ridden outpourings and curious perspectives on the world. I recently re-read one of those journals and it certainly reminded me about perspectives I had long forgotten.
Unfortunately, I didn’t know anyone who was an author and it certainly wasn’t discussed as a career choice. So, I didn’t even consider writing a book until my early 30s when I went through the breakdown of my long-term relationship. I found myself writing to help make sense of the upheaval I was experiencing and then, once I was single, I wrote about all the ridiculous and nonsensical experiences I had with men in the dating world.
One day, I shared an anecdote about my divorce with a new friend. Months later, she said she lay in bed that night and felt like a weight had lifted because my story helped her feel “normal”.
That is when I realised my words could help people and it’s when I began taking my book seriously.
The Men I’ve Almost Dated was my first book. It is a memoir and explores all the pain, confusion, and hilarity of separation, divorce and dating. Interestingly, it is quite different from my second book, An Intuitive Lifestyle, which is a completely channelled work. It arrived in early 2022 and is essentially a guide to help people connect more meaningfully with themselves and the world around them, and respond to the challenges we are facing globally.
My channelled writing shows up when I least expect it, and I have to rush to write it all down. I madly type or handwrite whatever is coming through and never know where it is going or what I’m going to write next. I am invariably surprised when I read it later and discover it not only makes sense but also includes messages I find really valuable and insightful. I’ve just published this book and it is currently free for anyone who subscribes to my newsletter, Lucretia’s Letters.
My next book, The Madness of Love, is a collection of channelled poetry which explore the turbulence of love, soul connections, and other-worldly insights.
Writing is the clearing house for my soul. It helps me express my thoughts, feelings, and desires, and make sense of the world. In my heart, I am a writer and I love helping others to express themselves too.
