What is the story behind Imagine Float?
Imagine Float was born out of the idea that we can only move forward if we are practicing our wellness on a day-to-day basis. That means our physical, mental, AND emotional bodies. There is this idea, this concept, that when you’re flying on an airplane, you’re supposed to take your face mask first in the case of an emergency and administer that before you can help others. However, in our day-to-day lives, we tend to do more giving than we do taking care of ourselves. Our wellness center strives to encourage everyone who walks in our door to fill their cup first…because you can’t pour from an empty cup.
All of our services are non-invasive. We believe they trick our bodies into healing themselves. We call them smoke and mirrors. We have one vessel, this body of ours, that will take us through life, and we want to use it and care for it as well as possible, for as long as possible, thereby increasing our health span. We aim to increase our quality of life, not just lower our mortality rate.
We now die at a later age, but we haven’t seemed to achieve the idea that we can live that long as well as possible. Again, we believe that all of our services strive to improve that health span. It all started with floating. My co-founder and I both experienced float therapy, and we both had a magical experience. It was the right time and the right place for it to happen. Our minds were open to the possibility.
When we had done the research to better understand what something as simple as floating in a private cabin with 1,100 pounds of salt for an hour could do to the physical body as well as the mental and emotional body, it was transformational. We wanted to share that with our greater community. We both had this notion that what works for us likely will work for others, and we had this desire to give back to the community. We are put here for a reason, and I have found my purpose in spreading as much wellness as possible to my community.
What is float therapy?
Float therapy is a private saltwater bath. It involves using ten inches of water and 1100 pounds of salt in a private cabin, whereby we’ve removed all the external stimuli – the noise that we’ve become accustomed to. As you float effortlessly in that water, the salt is literally holding your body up and all of those muscles in your body are allowed to finally relax. They don’t actually have to do anything to support your bones, joints, tendons, etc. For 60 to 90 minutes, all those angry muscles actually get the rest they desperately need.
Even when we’re sitting in a chair, we’re using our body to help us stay in that position. The benefits from a physicality standpoint is the Epsom salt that’s loaded with magnesium, which soothes those muscles while the support it provides elongates the spine and allows a deeper stretch when twisting and turning. Your entire body just relaxes
The most magical part of float therapy, though, really lies in the removal of external stimuli. While you’re in there, your brain actually rests. Some people would ask, “Do I sleep in there?” The answer is – yes, it’s possible. You come in and out of consciousness and whatever your body needs, your body will do if you’re open to it. Therefore, you might sleep, you might solve a problem, have a creative breakthrough, etc. Anything is possible. It’s 60 minutes that are ever-changing. Every float is a practice, and from every float, you come out better for different reasons.
How does Emsculpt Neo work?
The Emsculpt Neo is our latest device and service offering. It was brought in because all of our services strived to help people deal with health hiccups that had happened. For example, someone comes in because they sneezed the wrong way and now, they have low back pain. They used our services to mitigate that low back pain. Maybe they fell, or they can’t lift their groceries, or they have sore muscles or aches and pains, knee pain, back pain, etc. All of those things we try to help mitigate once they happen. That’s our intention and our hope.
However, I didn’t see anything under our roof that could help prevent those hiccups from actually happening. Once I did some research, it became very clear that it’s a lack of muscle tone. We are an aging society, and as we age, we lose that muscle tone naturally. What the Emsculpt Neo does is that it gives us back that muscle tone that we’ve lost and our renewed sense of confidence, so that when we go to the gym to lift those weights and continue to build our muscle and our strength. This muscle and strength protects our bones and joints while potentially increasing our metabolism and our overall wellness. Everything works better.
Emsculpt Neo is two different therapies in one. It uses radio frequency to heat the localized area to burn fat cells. It helps reduce the subcutaneous fat that has built up in those stubborn spots. However, the real power lies in the HiFem. HiFem is creating a perfect muscle contraction in the belly of that muscle. A 30-minute session equates to 20,000 perfect contractions. So, if we’re talking about the abdominal muscle for 30 minutes, you’re getting 20,000 perfect sit-ups, crunches, or any abdominal exercise. You’re building that core strength.
When you have that core strength, you’re protecting your gate and your back, you’re more stabilized, your posture is better, and your respiratory function is better because you’re elongated and open to that breathing. Emsculpt Neo is truly the magic behind fighting the aging process so that we can increase our quality of life.
What are the benefits of Cryo Body-Sculpting?
Cryo Body-Sculpting is the most versatile and technically advanced device on the market. It allows us to get to those stubborn spots of subcutaneous fat that weigh heavily on your mental wellness. For someone who’s going to the gym every day, eating all the right things, but just can’t get rid of some of these little fat pockets. We’re talking about the bat wings for your arms, the double chin, the turkey neck, the menopausal apron, etc. As we age, no matter how much diet and exercise we do, sometimes we just can’t make headway on it.
Cryo Body-Sculpting allows us to help our clients feel better about what they see in the mirror. We had never intended to get into that business, but we saw how much it weighed on their mental wellness, and we wanted to help encourage them and give them back their confidence.
It uses CO2, which is a natural gas that the skin can withstand, but it freezes those subcutaneous fat cells. Most clients absolutely love the feeling because it’s a very comfortable experience. Our clients are completely astounded with the results, even just after one session. Not only that, there’s no downtime afterwards!
What other services do you offer?
We offer Ballancer® Pro, which is a lymphatic drainage suit. We are the only wellness center in all of New England that has both the Ballancer® Pro and the Ballancer® Gold. I’d love to add that the serial number on one of our devices is 32…that is we’re the 32nd business in the US to purchase this piece of equipment. That’s how passionate we are about its ability to stimulate the lymphatic system. It’s been around for 40 years, used in Europe and every other continent besides the US, but in the US, it just came to us in the past four years. It’s FDA-cleared and approved for pain relief, but the real value lies in the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is, in my opinion, the most undervalued system in our body. It is our first line of filtration. It is where all viruses, pollution, and all things have to flush through first before they get into our other filtration system – the “blood” circulatory system whereby waste is flushed out our liver and kidneys.
However, it commonly gets stuck in the lymphatic system because there’s no pump. It requires muscle contraction. With our sedentary lifestyle, it just naturally becomes more and more sluggish, and even more so with aging.
We offer Whole Body Cryotherapy, which is a three-minute session that strives to reduce systemic inflammation. Our clients have experienced the elimination of several bouts of tendonitis when used as a practice in multiple sessions. There’s the endorphin rush, the magic of that burst of cool air. It can stimulate the vagus nerve, allowing your body to relax. It also builds mental tenacity. When you’re exposed to things that are difficult for short periods of time, your body builds the tenacity to do hard things. As we all have hard things in life, it’s important to introduce ourselves on a day-to-day basis with these natural stressors to develop that mental fortitude so that when the real thing comes along, we’re ready to handle it.
We also offer the infrared sauna, which is fantastic for detoxification. It’s the opposite system of the Ballancer® Pro. It helps the circulatory system flush out the waste product that’s been dumped into it from the lymphatic system. It’s a wonderful experience. It’s not like a traditional sauna that heats the air around you. Rather, it heats you from the inside out, allowing for a deep detoxification. A lot of our clients experience heavy metal toxicity or Lyme disease, and they will come in to use this sauna to minimize those flare-ups and expedite that healing process.
What’s in store for Imagine Float going forward?
The world is my oyster, as they would say. The horizon looks so bright for wellness. We are on the cusp of so many services, therapies, and devices that are being researched, developed, and implemented to care for our bodies on a proactive measure so that we become more engaged in our overall wellness rather than reacting to a disease. With that being said, our service offerings will always be expanding and we’ll always be researching what is the missing piece of our puzzle that we need to start introducing to our community so that we all thrive together.
