In this exclusive MysticMag interview with Michele Murphy, we delve into her multifaceted journey from a distinguished legal career to becoming an ordained priestess, hypnotherapist, spiritual coach, and more. With a rich background spanning public service, academia, and spiritual healing modalities, Michele shares insights into crystal readings, chakra balancing, and the profound impact of karmic connections on spiritual growth.
What can you tell me about yourself and your professional background?
I am a “crone to be” (currently an Ordained Priestess under Sacred Order of Light) – I am a 57-year-old (Gemini in Cancer cusp) widow with two children who are in college and two fur babies and live in upstate Hudson Valley, New York. Prior to my spiritual “awakening”, I was a practicing (now retired) attorney for over 20 years. Most of my legal work was dedicated to initially as a prosecutor in the domestic violence unit, child protection cases (representing children), and political asylum cases in immigration (also mostly child clients).
I was also in public office as a Town of Blooming Grove Councilwoman; where I shut down a shelter that had dangerous conditions and was affecting the general public; and started an organization called “Neighbors for Neighbors,” which there are now over 35 volunteers who assist the elderly and disabled in the town with friendly visiting, transportation and other clerical types of assistance.
I also have actively participated as a Washingtonville library trustee and for $1, I had the town sell the library to the trustees and was able to successfully obtain grants and funding to historically restore the building. I was also a law professor at William Paterson University for 15+ years, teaching criminal justice to new police officers; plus in the Women’s and Gender Studies Department I was teaching about racism, sexism, and the waves of feminism. I also taught Sociology and created the course Women and the Law, of which my outlines are currently being taught at university.
I also am an Ordained Minister through Universal Life Church. I also attended a traditional seminary school in New York State, under United Church of Christ. I have performed many church services, taught courses, and led many Bible study courses. I also performed wedding ceremonies and funerals. Currently, I am a Certified Hypnotherapist, and created “Hypnoreiki.” I am combining the healing modality of Reiki while the client is under hypnosis so that they receive the healing while they are pinpointing their healing needs, consciously and subconsciously.
I am also a Usui Reiki Master Teacher and use that modality with my clients and teach students the course as well. I am also able to perform Reiki while the client is getting readings from me. I am a Certified Angel Advisor and studied and received that certification through an intensive online and in-person program under Radleigh Valentine (Hay House Publishing). When I am doing angel readings, (tarot or any other readings I provide), I invoke the Archangels to be my spiritual guides to help me guide my clients and answer their questions and advise them accordingly. I have also received my Angel Tarot Certification through Valentine’s program.
I am also a Certified Spiritual/Life Coach and Advisor.
What can a person learn through a Crystal Reading?
The client learns more about which crystals are beneficial to their physical, emotional, and of course, spiritual well-being. Crystals hold different frequencies of vibrations that can help the client energetically recognize what is necessary in their all-around lifestyle. (Whether the focus is love, calmness, healing, etc., these natural elements allow the client to energetically manifest whatever it is their energy needs.) I work with the client with their major chakras so that they can ascend their vibrational energy. We discuss which crystals they would wear, diffuse, or even add to their water, if necessary.
How does Chakra Balancing Work?
During this deeply meditative experience, crystals, pendulum, oils, and/or herbs will be placed on the client (mostly on their main 7 chakras), to bring the body’s chakras back into alignment. When they are balanced, aligned, and unblocked, the energy flows freely through the chakras, harmonizing mind, body, and spirit. These energy centers can do the exact opposite when blocked or out of balance. That “interrupted” energy flow sows discord and can cause specific physical, mental, and spiritual problems in the body.
What ideas do you base your spiritual/life coaching on and what can people achieve through it?
Part of my spiritual coaching is to help my clients discover and understand karmic connections and relationships and how that is a life lesson that they came to Earth School to learn and ascend spiritually. When we discover our karmic connections (and who they are as people but as souls as well), it is a very powerful tool for understanding the relationships and experiences in their lives. By exploring that concept of karma, the client gains insight into the patterns and lessons that are present in their lives; and begins to make more conscious choices about how they interact with others and the world around them. This may even include past life regression therapy sessions as well.
What are the differences between Angel and Tarot Readings?
The main purpose of an Angel Tarot Reading is to receive guidance from the angelic realm and receive encouraging wisdom about your current life situation directly from the Angels. Traditional Tarot cards and Angel Tarot cards are both legitimate tools of divination that have both been used for centuries. Both Tarot and Angel Tarot cards can be used for guidance, self-reflection, and gaining insight into someone’s life, their personal, and spiritual development.
However, it can be argued that the focus and interpretation of the cards can be quite different. Tarot can be seen as more symbolic, while clients have expressed that Angel Tarot cards are more specific and personalized reading. It is also worth mentioning that while Tarot can be interpreted for divination and future predictions (although my readings do NOT give future predictions for the clients have free will.), Angel Tarot cards are used to provide direct guidance and spiritual and healing support, not the prediction of the future.
