How do you establish a soul connection with your clients? Can you describe the process of tapping into their energy and intuition?
Before any session, I sit to attune to the power and vibrational energy and I set my intentions using my prayer for the session. I then sit with the thought of the person asking for all that is needed to assist their progression and healing in this human existence. It is a blending of two souls which when the intention is set and both parties are open to this process, works beautifully. I help the client understand that free will always prevails and they must choose for themselves which path they wish to take. So, in essence, I will bring forward and share all information that I receive but advice is as it is, they can take it or they can leave it. I do not mean this disrespectfully but I have complete awareness that we, as individuals, need to take personal responsibility for our actions and conduct.
As a spiritual tutor, how do you help individuals develop their own intuitive and psychic abilities? What methods or exercises do you recommend?
It is my understanding that each of us are blessed with psychic abilities although not all would call it that, some call it gut instinct or intuition, it has the same meaning to me. It is the interpretation of what can be that I help individuals understand. I assist to dispel any fear surrounding these abilities in speaking about what the different senses and feelings are doing in these processes. Again, it helps if the individual is open to practice and gets it ‘wrong’ so that they can unfold and develop what works best for them. I will also mention that in this human journey, we are going to meet many many challenges and sometimes we get stuck in negative thoughts of ourselves. In the preparation to open to these ‘extra powers’, we must learn to heal what may be holding us back. E.g negative personal thoughts, low self-esteem etc. I know many speak of the importance of meditation which is of course wonderful, but meditation is to connect with the self, to bring a deeper understanding to who we are and what our journey entails, self- awareness in a nutshell. I have found that if we have too many hang ups, the not good enough one is very prevalent, can halter and even stop psychic abilities, self-belief without being self-obsessed is important. Meditation helps us accept ourselves in all ways, it can help us to understand what can or needs to be changed or adapted in order to reach a higher understanding of the spiritual self.
There are many tools to assist the understanding of what can be done when connecting to a soul, colour, ribbons, anything really but I feel Oracle cards are a wonderful starter to bring a person wishing to develop, they allow their mind to wander and just say what they are sensing, feeling and seeing. I get great enjoyment when I see an individual receiving positive replies to their words, this also helps that person progress and try to go deeper with their perceptions. Guided meditations which bring people on journeys to the unknown, in a safe environment, are also a wonderful method to attain the aha moments, on these journeys we can access what needs to be understood and even how to achieve this. A plan of action can be formed and as the tutor, I can assist in the how’s and possibilities.
What type of services do you offer?
I have trained in many modalities with mediums, psychics, spiritual counsellors and also have participated in counselling training and psychology. I did all of this to enable me to arrive at my truth of what I can bring to this world, to bring a depth of understanding of all possibilities and not limit the potentials. I attended Arthur Findlay College many times to develop and unravel all these feelings and understandings I found within. This spurred me to access and achieve accreditation in my mediumship, inspirational speaking and teaching with the Spiritualist National Union. I am a trained and experienced medium, psychic, healer and spiritual tutor. I offer one to one sessions for mediumship and psychic readings either in person or online. As a teacher I run development workshops also in person or online. I do charity or free work, fundraising etc. as I like to help where I can, it of course is not always possible to assist everyone but I do what I can. I am an inspirational speaker bringing hope where I can, deepening faith that we are all loved, we are all part of the big picture and no one is left out. I feel so privileged to have found and developed this natural occurrence within us all, however we do need to work hard with it to progress it in the nature that the spirit world wishes it to be.
Can you discuss a challenging situation you encountered during a reading or spiritual tutoring session and how you effectively navigate it?
I always say the best thing about my job is people, and the worst thing about my job is people. People are people and I love them all but many, as I mentioned before, are going through challenging times and whilst they are at some deeper level looking for assistance, the human emotions can get in the way. I always try to keep my mind open to this and work to the consideration that anyone causing ‘unnecessary fuss’ may be in a difficult personal space and time. However, if it occurs during a class setting, as the tutor, I need to address this quickly so as not to negatively impact on another student in a manner that is respectful but taking charge nonetheless. I will be honest though, I have been lucky as a tutor that I have not had to deal with many negative situations where I needed to pull a student up on their behaviour. I set out the contract of the class before beginning, stating we are all here to learn and to support each other and I do not permit either a lording over or a belittling of another in my class. We are all here to be part of the experience and share with each other in a loving manner.
On occasion a client will arrive with a misunderstanding that a psychic can tell them exactly what to do in their lives, a fortune teller will tell them their fortune so to speak. I feel this absolutely negates freewill so I will do my best to explain the process, what is the reality of sitting and that I am not a ‘fortune teller’. Also on occasion, a person may believe their beautiful spirit can tell them exactly what to do in their life with any given situation. I try to explain that they can only support and guide us in our decisions but they cannot tell us how to lead our life. However, if there was aggression or an unwillingness to receive during a one-to-one setting and nothing I was doing assisted, I would bring the session to a close and perhaps explain that I am not the psychic or medium for them and offer other mediums names. There is no point taking these situations deeply personally, however I would reflect on it later with my guides and I would ask what I could have done differently. It is a truth in life that we cannot blend with everyone and it is just the same for mediums and psychics, this is something I have learned to accept.
In what ways do you incorporate various spiritual practices and philosophies into your sessions to foster a deeper connection with the spiritual realm?
Each day I remember how thankful I am for this life, its lessons and its blessings. I know some days are harder than others, but it is still a practice I like to do especially when the human in me forgets but the soul will always send a reminder. I like to chat in my mind with my guides as I potter through the day especially if I have an event or am trying to work out an issue I have. When I need a deeper connection, I will do what is known as ‘sitting in the power’ which basically means, attuning to the faster vibration of the spirit world. As a spiritualist I do my best to at least once a week, attend a Divine Spiritual Service which incorporates prayer, healing, philosophy and evidential mediumship. I love my God, as I understand that power to be, it is benevolent and gracious, something I would like to see in myself. I know this next statement is thrown around a lot, ‘kindness costs nothing’, I absolutely do my best to live by this as truly, it does not cost a jot to offer compassion, understanding and kindness to a fellow traveler on this journey of existence in this life. A healing hand is always offered, a smile on a dark day, words of hope in what may appear to be a dismal outcome, these are all part of my world as a spiritualist. I believe as a spiritual being, it is part of my soul contract to offer guidance, assistance, healing and hope whatever the setting. Does this mean I am perfect? Nope, far from it but I, like everyone else, am a work in progress. My learning, education and life experiences continue and as they grow, I share with others who may find my words, experiences and knowledge helpful.
What advice would you give to someone who is seeking to deepen their spiritual journey and establish a stronger connection with their own intuition and higher self?
I would advice anyone asking how to deepen their awareness of the spiritual self and the spiritual realm to read books, read about other people’s experiences and they can discover what sits well or feels right to them. I would suggest they sign up to a day course or workshops to delve into this interest and see if it has ‘legs’. We are all individuals, we all have a uniqueness but we can learn so much from the experiences of others. As mentioned already, removing fear is important, knowledge dispels fear. Gain as much knowledge as you can and keep trying. No one, and I mean no one, gets everything correct all the time. Sitting in meditation can build a most wonderful self- acceptance and open the channel to the higher self, the inner self that often does not get the opportunity to shine. We are all, every single one of us, loving and compassionate but this earthly life and world often does not allow us to show this aspect of us as it may be seen as a vulnerability. You, as the person, you as the soul, have a right to be who you are and not who you feel you have to be. Acceptance is key to this I feel, accept yourself in all your glory, perceived good and bad can be other people’s perceptions. Find your truth in you, find your understanding of you, find the peace that lays within the soul of you. When you do this or even put yourself on the path of self-awareness, the connection you seek, you may find already exists. I have asked myself many times, how come I am only knowing things now when it has been so blatantly obvious it seems to others. Well, let us not be so hard on ourselves, we had to surmount all challenges, the main one perhaps being the idea of who we are, to arrive at this point in our lives. No time is ever wasted, all occurrences are for a reason and that reason could just be, bringing you to love and accept yourself and others with care, compassion and deep passion to explore all that can be. Seek the magic and start with the magic of you!
