How do you tailor your personal coaching sessions to meet the unique needs and goals of individual clients, and what methods or frameworks do you employ to ensure a personalized and effective coaching experience?

My Personal Coaching Sessions are aligned alongside consciousness, energetic and holistic principles. At essence, the vehicle of transformation within this work is awareness and the direction of travel is to the self. When people step onto this journey, they are responding to an intuitive call to come back to themselves, and to steer forward on a path aligned to their truth, passion and inspiration.

Our work together often opens a doorway to greater clarity about direction and purpose, and a deepening into intuition, self-acceptance and compassion. From this place, many of my clients have initiated huge life changes, such as career changes, life-style changes and initiating new project, all guided to support their their health, personal growth and wellbeing.

This work always starts with the client and is guided by them. As a Coach, I consider myself to be walking alongside, learning as they learn, witnessing as they go, supporting as they discern, untangle and dissolve obstacles to growth.

In your practice of energy healing, how do you assess and address the energy imbalances of your clients? Can you share a specific example of a client who benefited from energy healing, and how you tailored your approach to their specific situation?

Attending to energetic information is the core of any session, and is an integrative practice of intuitive listening, sensing and discerning. This involves listening to my client’s story, their perceptions and experiences, their intentions and any current challenges. It also involves listening to their embodied communications, noticing posture, body language, emotional communications. In Reiki, which incorporates hands on healing and work with crystals, I also use the listening capacity of my hands and work with pendulums to sense the energetic information shared from the physical and subtle body.

In my view, the key for healing resides within each of us, so my role is as a guide. My sessions provide a space for the client to listen to their own energy and explore pathways for balance.

I incorporate Reiki symbols, breath, meditation practices and sound components. As energetic information is brought into awareness, in a space of compassion and non-judgement, there is an opportunity for release, transformation and re-integration. It can be subtle yet powerful, and feels expansive and liberating to the client.

In a recent session with a client with a physical health diagnosis, my client brought up a situation which had left her with considerable sadness. This sadness became the focus of the session as she linked her relationship to emotion to her current health crisis. Through the session, she was able to identify where sadness was felt in her body, and was able to see how anger came in as a protection. She could also see and verbalize how anger was held in her body and how this felt. Through the session and as we talked, I worked around her using Reiki and a pendulum. It was as if waves of heaviness came to be seen and then released. I felt energies open and become lighter, and there was an expanded sense of flow. There was a discernible shift, as emotional energy held in the body was given opportunity to be seen, acknowledged and to soften. At the end, she reported feeling so much more balanced, lighter and positive, with new insights about how to support herself.

Sound healing is a diverse field. How do you incorporate sound healing techniques into your coaching sessions, and what types of sound modalities do you find most effective in promoting emotional and spiritual well-being for your clients?

My learnings from years of practice with sound find their way into my coaching and healing sessions. It may be direct … such as bringing a Tibetan bowl into a session, closing a healing with a mini gong bath or a mantra. It may be more indirect … such as bringing awareness to the nature of sound, exploring the power within the words we speak and think.

I love sound because it takes one out of thinking and away from this sense that we have to do something. It’s a space of experiencing and being. It is beyond words and concepts and communicates directly with where we are. It is a practice which IS flow and allowing.

In my view, what is most important, in relation to promoting emotional and spiritual wellbeing, is the way the space is held and the intention of the sound offering. For example, it is important the client feels safe, is grounded and supported as they settle into a sound experience. It is my responsibility as a player, to step out of my individual self, to ground my energy and allow the playing to emerge from Source. I access this by grounding my own energy and resting into my heart.

It’s really about the way we play as sound healers. Imagine your mind as the mallet and your heart as the gong, bowl or drum. How do you play yourself? Do you play with harshness, impatience or frustration, or is there an attitude of gentleness and allowing. This I feel is the key and heart of sound healing.

Women’s circles emphasize community and support. How do you create a safe and empowering space within women’s circles, and how do you address the unique needs and challenges that women may bring to these gatherings?

I consider the Women’s Circle to be an inspiration space, a place where women can come to connect, share and receive. It is built on feeling safe to share and contribute, and on equanimity where each participant has a voice. It is founded on some core principles of honoring the space and each other, confidentiality and an understanding it is not an advice-giving group or therapy space. Through the circle, new members quickly come to feel its value and the acceptance, compassion, genuine inspiration and non-judgement shines through.

I have hosted the circle since March 2020, and there is now a strong community of women who have been coming for many years, while new members continue to join. It has brought women together from across North America from diverse backgrounds, cultures, experiences and generations. This diversity is part of the circle’s strength, to be in circle together, listening and sharing their own wisdom, is rich and joyful.

I find the mutual understanding of the nature of the space, and the genuine care and compassion that each member brings, holds a wonderfully supportive container. If someone shares a moment of challenge in their lives, that person is held in warmth. It may give someone the boost they need in that moment. It is incredible to witness the gentle transformation that happens through the space over time, the growth of each individual, their successes and challenges, and the friendships which form.

Retreats offer a different context for personal growth. How do you design and facilitate retreat experiences to ensure they are transformative and aligned with the personal development goals of the participants? Can you share a memorable moment from one of your retreats?

Mothertree Retreats, curated and hosted by Winter Reign (@holisticworldretreats) and myself, are like the icing on the cake of my offerings. They are created from our inspiration, from a love of travel and the wonders of nature, and a calling to share this experience with others. They seem to be deeply transformative experiences for our guests, and for us too, because they take us out of our lives for a pocket of time and into new perspectives.

The intention is simple! To offer an experience which nourishes mind, body and spirit, in special locations, connected to nature and within the warmth of community. Each retreat is curated and guided by the particular energies of the place we are visiting, with an intention to give back to the land and guardians of the space. We offer a host of holistic activities, including a strong creative component. As a group we explore the local land, with nature hikes and meditative practices.

Our retreats are characterized by a lightness and play. We hold open a space of flow and see these as precious opportunities in which our guests can step out of routine and rigidity. The sense of community and shared excitement is palpable.

So many moments to share! One which is memorable … setting off into Joshua Tree National Park for our Saturday afternoon hike in Sept 2021 and arriving into the middle of the most amazing and spectacular storm. The moment we arrived, giant droplets began to fall from the sky, the smell of rain in the desert is something I will remember forever. Our group, holding open their arms to embrace this rain. It was so incredibly cleansing. Then as the rain became torrential, and a giant clap of thunder rang across the sky, we jumped into our cars saturated to the skin, and drove out of the park accompanied by hail stones. The sense of ALIVENESS and excitement was electric. We arrived home, soaked, laughing and in awe from this most magnificent show. We changed into dry clothes, and gathered for our evening meal created by Winter, and our evening fire ceremony. It was magical, and I think will be a moment remembered fondly by everyone who was there.

Meditation is a fundamental practice for many. How do you incorporate meditation into your coaching, and how do you guide clients in establishing and maintaining a meaningful meditation practice as part of their overall well-being journey?

I turn to meditative practices frequently in my sessions. I may encourage my client to join me in meditation as we start a session. Or I may guide my client into a meditative space if we come to a sticking point, or become overly focused on thinking and fixing. I find these meditative moments provide a powerful pause and opportunity for realignment, and for intuitive information to come forth. My approach is informal and often heart centered. I believe our greatest learning comes through experiencing, so experiencing in this way, in session, is powerful and models “how to” use such practices in the every day, moment to moment experiences of life.
