Karla Gutierrez is a spiritual counselor and advisor who provides mediumship and psychic readings in addition to Reiki and Quantum Touch energy healing services for people and animals. Karla serves as a bridge that connects the living to the dead, using her unique abilities to help her clients find peace and gain insight to help them live happier and healthier lives. In this interview she shares what being a psychic medium means to her and how to develop a richer connection with yourself.
When would you say your passion for helping and healing others began? Was there someone who inspired you or an experience that sparked this?
As far back as I can remember I have always wanted to help people in one way or another, so it is not something that I suddenly decided to do, it has always been there.
As far back as I can remember I have always had these abilities as well. I was doing reading even before I really knew what readings were, I just thought that was a normal part of life. I realized that it is not something that everybody, at least out in the open, does. I have always had that want to be able to help people in any kind of way.
What are the main services that you offer?
Mediumship readings, psychic readings, past life readings and energy work like Reiki and Quantum Touch. I am a Reiki Master in several different types of Reiki and Quantum Touch Practitioner and the energy work I do is all distant as well so I do not need to have the client here with me, everything can be done virtually.
Most people contact me for mediumship readings because most people do want to connect with somebody that they have lost and that is my main type of reading. I also do a lot of psychic readings which are also very popular, a lot of times people like to do a combination of both. In our current situation sessions are available virtually either on video or phone.
What is your most extraordinary experience as a reader?
The most extraordinary for me is when somebody contacts me to tell me I have helped them more in an hour than years of therapy. It is amazing and I am happy to be able to help somebody like that because you do not always know how you have affected someone in an hour.
I record my sessions for people to go back and listen to. Sometimes when people have a reading they are not able to pay as much attention, some things get overlooked and they sometimes cannot make the connection with what I am saying at the time. They can then go back and listen to it over again.
If someone has done a course of readings over a few years, people will listen to their sessions back-to-back and contact me saying that they cannot believe how accurate everything I had told them that was either going to happen or get ready to happen, even though at the time didn’t think it possible and I just tell them what I am receiving. They cannot believe that everything I had said played out like a script, and that is for the psychic readings.
For the mediumship readings there are so many people that are so lost and are grieving so much and when you connect them with the person that they want to speak to the most and you are able to bring through evidence and validations, very specific things they know without a shadow of a doubt that that person is still connected with them, although it is in a different way but it makes them feel like they have closure, they know they are still here.
Like I said this person might have been in therapy for years because they lost a spouse or parent for example. Loss affects everybody differently so when they say “you helped me more in an hour” that blows me away and I am amazed because I am making a difference.
What have you found are the more popular aspects that people seek guidance for and how can you assist them with this?
Most people when they are getting a psychic reading and seek guidance are looking for relationship advice or they want to know what is going on in their relationship, if somebody new is going to be coming into their life and also career. Those are usually the two most popular subjects that people want a psychic reading for. I have also had a lot of people who have health concerns as well.
Being a Psychic Medium and Energy Healer and having to consistently heal and help others, how do you conserve and protect your own energy?
I do so many things, for example I put things in my bra like specific crystals, I use cascarilla, which is the outside part of an egg which comes in little cup, like a chalk or powder, I cut a piece of that off and also put that in my bra. When I do readings I cover my head, usually when I go out I try to cover my head only because I am so sensitive that I tend to pick things up even when I am protecting myself. I do spiritual baths, I cleanse my aura all the time so it is a constant battle. A lot of people think that all you have to do is surround yourself with white light and that protects you but unfortunately that is not the case.
Everything that you do to protect your aura is just a filtering system. Kind of like a vaccine, you might not get it as strong so I know that is a mistake that a lot of people who are mediums and psychics do, they may think that what they are doing is 100% but nothing will protect you 100% so you have to stay on top of it.
One day I may do one thing or multiple things and another day I may do something else, whatever intuitively comes to me, I will mix and match and do the best I can. Cleansing on a regular basis is also a big part of trying to keep yourself clean spiritually, your aura and trying to stay at a high vibration. And then I give myself Reiki as well.
Lastly, what piece of advice would you give someone trying to develop a richer connection with themselves?
I think the most important thing is that you definitely have to love and accept yourself first, you have to if you really want to know yourself you really have to go inside of your own self and your own spiritual being. Do not let other people try to tell you who you are or who you are not, try to silence those outside voices of other people. You know who you are, do not let anyone tell you who you are or who you are not.
A lot of people are insecure and they may have reasons for that but they have to try to really go inside and say “This is me”, regardless of what they do or they don’t do, you have to know who you are in order to have that psychic connection with yourself. If you do not, you have to try find yourself and do not let anybody interfere in your own relationship with yourself.
You have to love yourself, and that will also help others love you. So many people come for relationship advice and I tell them if you do not love yourself, nobody else is going to love you, at least not for something permanent. Do not lose yourself in somebody else, do not let anybody change you either.
