What led you to pursue a career as an alternative and holistic healer? Can you share your personal journey and experiences that shaped your path?
Although I was a Police Officer for most of my career and had completed a Science degree, I always had a spiritual side. My Mum was quite alternative and my sister was also holistic. I had a “spiritual awakening” during a healing several years back where I got some strong (and crazy) messages that I should be doing energy healing myself (much to my surprise). I listened and followed my intuition and created my Michelle Anne Soul Healer business. It was terrifying as I really had no idea what I was doing and was just trusting my intuition and my deep soul knowing. I ended up going part time in the Police to focus on my calling as I knew it was my true passion. Over time, I joined forces with my sister and in 2021, I left my 23 year Police career to work on our business full time! I now love talking about the link between Science and Spirituality and have found out I have a natural gift for channeling. The change over the last 6 years of my life has been mind blowing. I share my spiritual awakening story in my podcast “The Soul Stories” by Michelle Anne.
How do you define alternative and holistic healing? What modalities or techniques do you incorporate into your practice?
Alternative and holistic healing is any modality that is not considered “mainstream”. If the GP isn’t impressed by it or the general media turn their nose up to it and call it “unverified” then you are on the right track. It’s something you can’t “put your finger on” but feels so good in your soul – you know it’s working. I incorporate energy healing, channeling and mild plant medicine (cacao) into my practice. I incorporate it with more accepted modalities such as coaching so that I can reach more people. I have recently started delving into nervous system regulation which is also a little more accepted.
What type of services do you offer?
I work with my sister to bring science and spirituality together (similar to mind and body, heart and head, structure and flow). We work mostly with successful business women to bring them back into alignment. We do this using online coaching and mastermind packages and retreats. We have also created a beautiful heartfelt and loyal community and use this to run cacao connection circles and other events.
Can you share some of the most common ailments or conditions that people seek your assistance with, and how you address them holistically?
Most people come to us disconnected, burnt out and “in their head”. They are seeking something “more” and are often overwhelmed, stressed and are not trusting themselves. Usually they are successful in one area of their life but at the expense of another. Some have deep trauma they have never addressed. We provide a very strong community and support and use both NLP and my spiritual work to guide them back to their own whispers and knowing. We provide a safe space to have them open up and be vulnerable and allow them to move the stagnant built up energy that is holding them back. I love watching a woman “switch her lights back on”. It’s so fulfilling and one of the reasons I do what I do.
How do you collaborate with your sister Diane to provide comprehensive care to your clients?
Diane and I work together like yin and yang. We are so different. We even look different and people don’t believe we are sisters. Di is the big visionary and has huge ideas on how she wants to help women and make a difference. Although I am very spiritual, I am also very process and structure oriented so I make these ideas come true. We joke that Di throws the spaghetti at the wall and I clean up the mess and make something of it! She has a speciality in NLP and coaching and I specialise in energy work and space holding. I also build all the structures and processes that hold our business together and allow us to continue to support women without getting caught up working “in the business”. This allows us space for our creative geniuses. Due to our different personalities we can bring our energies and talents and each woman gets a “two for one deal”. It truly is magical.
Can you share any self-care practices or rituals that you personally incorporate into your daily life to maintain balance and well-being?
My biggest self- care practice is radical self-acceptance and trust. We are all on the roller coaster of life and I have learnt that even when it doesn’t feel like it’s working it always is. I do a lot of journaling, drink a lot of cacao and move my body daily. I know that keeping your vibration high with exercise, healthy eating and quality human connection is key. I live my life like this – in balance, embracing the ebbs and flows and knowing that I am on my mission and purpose.
