Embracing a Holistic Journey: Pamela Josifek on Integrating Yoga into Daily Life

Embracing a Holistic Journey: Pamela Josifek on Integrating Yoga into Daily Life

In a recent interview with MysticMag, Pamela Josifek delves into the transformative power of integrating yoga into our daily routines, beyond its commonly perceived role as a mere physical exercise.

Her Yoga-Inspired Lifestyle approach emphasizes a holistic blend of meditation, mindfulness, ethical living, and more, aiming to foster a harmonious balance in both mind and body. Through her unique virtual training program, Green Frog Yoga, Pamela offers a mentorship-driven journey, empowering participants to cultivate their own authentic teaching voice while maintaining personal well-being.

This enlightening conversation with MysticMag not only sheds light on the profound benefits of yoga but also introduces innovative ways to incorporate holistic habits and essential oils into the practice, enhancing overall wellness.

Can you share how the “Yoga Inspired Lifestyle” approach integrates with everyday activities to promote well-being?

I developed the Yoga-Inspired Lifestyle approach to integrate all aspects of yoga into daily living. Many people primarily know yoga as a movement practice that focuses on stretching, strengthening, and twisting the body. This is only a piece of the whole picture.

Yoga as a practice has so much more to offer as a lifestyle program including meditation, mindfulness, breathing, focus, concentration, and creating a peaceful world through living a life based on the ethical principles of the Yamas and Niyamas.

When we study the Yamas and the Niyamas we start to look at the world differently, understanding that we all are a work in progress. We learn to practice non-judgment, truthfulness, and non-attachment with others and ourselves. When yoga, meditation, and holistic wellness practices are intentionally included in daily practice, synchronicities begin to occur creating a happier and more relaxed life.

What unique aspects does the online yoga teacher training program offer, and how does it prepare participants for teaching?

The Green Frog Yoga Virtual training program is a mentorship program that gives the student a well-rounded yoga experience. Pam, the lead teacher, will guide students step-by-step through building powerful, authentic, effective, and easy-to-replicate yoga and meditation classes that will enable them to share these healing techniques with family, friends, and clients – while still finding balance in their own lives.

The virtual program will break down the eight limbs of yoga so students can see how they can live them in their everyday lives. The program is built allowing the students to practice, receive feedback, and feel confident in their teaching abilities and helps them to develop their yoga voice in the world.

The Green Frog Yoga Virtual Training program is built on communication and individual mentorship for the students as they progress through the course. Including individual and group sessions with the lead teacher bi-weekly, weekly, or as needed.

How do your holistic habits coaching sessions support individuals in achieving a balanced lifestyle?

I work with individuals to help them find natural ways to improve their wellness habits through energy work, aromatherapy, or vibration and sound healing.

Blending these with the basic principles of yoga, movement, and meditation the sessions can create a power transformation for the individual in the program.

In what ways do the essential oils you recommend complement the practice of yoga and meditation?

Using essential oils during the practice of yoga and meditation can help individuals relax, release stress, and improve their mood. Essential oils can be diffused in the room during the practice; used topically in a carrier oil on the back of the neck, wrists, or temples; or by placing a drop or two in your palm, rubbing them together, and then cupping your hands over your nose.

When choosing individual oils, the ones I recommend are:

● Frankincense, Cedarwood, and Sandalwood for grounding;

● Peppermint, orange, and cinnamon for increasing energy;

● Lavender, Frankincense, and Patchouli for meditation.

I often recommend the doTerra Yoga Collection – a set of Essential Oils blends created specifically for yoga. These blends are Anchor, Align, and Arise. These blends take the guesswork out of choosing the right oil for what you need.

Could you describe the benefits of corporate yoga classes for workplace wellness?

In today’s laptop and cell phone world, corporate yoga classes are very beneficial to get employees away from their desks and any electronics they are using. We work on opening up the upper body, improving posture, and also providing stress release from the day. I’ve taught yoga classes during lunchtime, right after work, and also during special employee events.

Many times a corporate class will be 30 or 45 minutes which is plenty of time for employees to gain the benefits of yoga and not feel stressed about trying to fit it in after work or taking time away from their families.

How does the flexibility of online and in-person yoga classes cater to the diverse needs of your students?

The ability to offer online or in-person classes meets the students where they are at and what works for them. By scheduling private classes there is a lot of flexibility for dates and times. Yoga classes do not need to be a full hour or more to be effective.

I have created videos for clients who want a 20-minute high-intensity class to get moving in the morning or ones who are looking for a relaxing flow class to relax at the end of a busy day. One of my longtime clients regularly schedules a 30-minute session on Sunday evenings to help her relax and be ready for the upcoming workweek.
